I have an android phone loaded with Android Auto that I connect (usb-c port to usb-c phone cable) every time I drive. %50 of the time, Bluetooth pairs first which leaves Android Auto without Multimedia capability. I have not found a way for AA to fully connect first.

I have tried disabling Bluetooth.. but once used once, it stays on.
I have tried removing the phone from Bluetooth and disabling, but again once used once, it stays on and the phone is added back.
I have tried to FORGET Bluetooth Maverick connection in the phone, same results.

I know AA uses Bluetooth, but why it connects to Bluetooth connect before AA I cannot figure out.

Thanks for any suggestions !

You may need to play with the phone settings, too. It may detect the cable connection and turn BT back on?..

AA takes a minute, BT is always going to be faster. it's just whether the AA takes control of the multimedia properly, or not.

Yes, it detects the cable and turns on BT which in times leads to BT picking up media over AA.
What I do not understand is that I have removed the phone from BT truck side and removed it from BT phone side, I would think that would keep it from BT connecting.. I even get a pairing message on the phone which I deny, but yet it still connects

On my Samsung android there is a permission setting that controls auto connect, yes or no.
I had to disable so I could decide to play music files or not each and every time.

I've used a wireless AA adapter I bought before my Maverick was delivered, and I haven't had issues like that at all. I can't be sure it will solve your problems, but it sure makes AA convenient. I've used only Samsung phones with it (Galaxy 21+ and Galaxy 24+).

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B71XC7VG is the adapter I use.

The only issue I have with it is if you have a very short break with the radio off - like, less than about 3 minutes - then it doesn't always connect to the radio properly when the radio is turned back on (error message on the screen) until you unplug the adapter and plug it back in. If the break is at least a few minutes, it's fine.

AA is still going to use BT for things like handsfree calling functionality. Try opening the BT device connection settings for the truck on your phone and disable it's permission for Media Audio.

I turn the audio off. Then Bluetooth won't work but your wired connection does.

I'll second the suggestion that it's a phone config. On my 24 XLT hybrid AA worked just fine wired when I got it. Then I ordered a generic AA adaptor and it still works fine. (I did have a week or so a month ago where it got pretty confused but I am assuming that was a failed upgrade issue because it eventually resolved itself.)

I'm guessing it is a settings or permissions issue. There are some things that pop up on phone screen the very 1st time you plug in. You have to agree to them.

Also, some settings for USB can end up incorrect, like for charging only or something.
