If you are not scheduled before order banks open for MY 24 it just seems to make sense to me to order a MY24 from a different dealer and then if you get scheduled cancel the MY24.

if you put a large deposit down on your MY23 that might not be an option.
No deposit , I can order again from local dealer this time , that I should have with in the first place . I just have to bear in mind that I’m gonna pay any additional increases to the $600 already some month's ago

Hopefully you get scheduled before order banks open. I think it’s likely it won’t open as early as reported so far. Prices will be higher but it will still be the only pick up available even close to that price point.

If I was pushed to a 24 I may or may not order. By that time Toyota and Ram may come up with competition.aybe order but keep an eye open for those. Don't mind waiting if Ford gave any updates at all. And after 2 model years of this think they would learn.
How are they going to have models ready for sale in the US this fall? Quit watching the click bait Youtube videos.

When I was a teenager, I went to my friend and his family to take delivery of their new 1965 Ford pickup.

September 17, 2022 I returned to that dealership to order a 2023 Maverick. It has always been family owned and a Ford dealer since before I was born in 1951. Dealers like this one across the country made Ford Motor Company what it is today.

My Maverick order has no constrained items and remains unscheduled. The last time I called Ford, the CSR offered me $50 credit for merchandise from the Ford online store. I believe this was not a good sign.

I suspect the only reason my order remains unscheduled clean is because this family owned dealership lacks allocations.

What I don’t understand is why the current allocation system favors the mega dealers with multiple stores and penalizes long affiliated independent dealers like mine. Ford take care of the dealers that made you what you are today.

Reading posts in this forum, appears best chance for taking delivery of a Maverick is ordering from a mega dealer with multiple locations or national operations like Autonation, Sonic, etc. This system of allocations to volume dealers will put the small ones out of business because they can’t sell what they don’t have.

I plan to stay in line until 2023 scheduling ends but I will not get in line for 2024 orders next month.
Ordered from a "Mega Dealer" with six locations: priority 10. They ran all orders through one shop. Nothing but crickets since September.

I think Ford should do away with the allocation system for retail orders or at least have transparency and list allocations on their website.

Like many others, I made a point to be the first order in at my dealership and still have no idea of whether mine will be built this year or rolled over to next year. Letting you know where you stand would be great.

probably the best chance route would have been to order from a variety of dealers - a mega a medium and a small and see what happened.

Except there is no other vehicle out there like the Maverick and won't be till 2025 at the earliest. I understand your frustration but I think you should keep your order and order new. I would choose a different dealership for MY24.
RAM Rmpage will be here later this year according to Stellantis...

FWIW...

I ordered my Maverick Lariat Tremor 9/19/22 from Galpin Ford in Van Nuys, CA. No deposit, no contract, no docs restricting my flipping the Maverick were tendered, just a simple verbal commitment. I tracked it through the build process and received it on March 14 of this year with no ADM and a streamlined 'check out'. Galpin have been ranked as the first or second largest volume dealer in the US for many years. I've had a relationship with this dealer and one particular salesperson for 11 years. I have transacted 10 sales from the variety the brands they represent under the Galpin banner (VW, Jaguar, Porsche, Mazda, Honda, and more) for myself and family.

I believe I've been fortunate in that I happened upon an honest, responsible salesperson and a dealer that moves units like there's no tomorrow...

the current system does seems to reinforce some bad behaviors. The larger volume dealer nearby allegedly had employees putting in orders to turn over as stock. Meanwhile the more honest but lower volume but more relationship guys ordered less but legit and received less so far this year. They told me after this COVP stuff clears out they’ll stand a better chance. We’ll see.

In Brazil later this year made at the Jeep plant there according to Ford Authority. Won't come here unless a plant in NA makes it.
