Hi, trying to read and learn about the ordering process. Looks like dealers get allocations per week (on Mondays), not monthly, that right? Is it a valid question to ask the dealer if they have any available allocations for the next week? Or how should this question be termed to get an idea of when it will be submitted and in the process?
Also, is it a thing to ask the dealer to make the order priority 10?
And what is the name of the form/receipt Tim mentions that you should get from the dealer after making an order?
Thanks for any advice!

The process varies from one dealer to another. How they manage allocations may not necessarily line up with how Ford assigns them. The dealer may decide to bank allocations if they are anticipating a big fleet order. That was my experience with one dealership last year. They reserved their entire year of allocations for fleet orders. Shop around for allocations. Make sure to specify drive train (FWD or AWD) an trim level as well. XL is more difficult to find allocations due to the fleet orders.

Volume of allocations which is based on prior sales is more important than timing. I hadn't found a dealership that was willing to disclose exact numbers, but you can ask how many Mavericks they sold last year to get an idea about volume. Some small dealerships sell very few hybrids, so they may not have many allocations to start with.

Allocations are given out monthly. On a weekly basis, dealers know their "allocation to be scheduled this week", but that is just a very rough guide. Constraints on options often mean that the scheduling for allocation can be delayed.

So you can ask a dealer if they have open/available allocation for the current month.

Dealers will all handle the order priorities a different way. The order priority is only in relation to other unscheduled orders that that dealer has.

Are you talking about the order confirmation sheet from WBDO? DORA?
