Curious. Has anyone ordered the Air Design satin black door moldings and had them painted the body color? I’m thinking about doing this once I get my truck.

I think they look ugly but good to prevent door dings. That’s why I want to see if I can paint them cactus green.
This Air Design build from SEMA had them color matched and I think they look very good body color.

In regards to door dings, keep in mind how low the Maverick is and specifically how low these door guards will sit relative to most other vehicles on the road. These may protect you from a small car or a lowered car but any full-size truck or SUV (heck, even most midsize) the doors will likely be much higher than where these are guards are. So they won't really protect that much IMO to justify the cost.

For example, either an F150 or Ranger door at full swing would easily impact at least a few inches above these door guards. The Red is roughly where a door ding would occur, the door guards on the Maverick install way down in the Green. I just don't see them offering much protection considering how much larger so many vehicles are these days.

Now if a Corvette pulls right next to you and swings a door open, the guards may come in handy, but if painted the eyesore will still be there, just on the plastic guard instead of the door metal.
