After ordering a 2023 Maverick, when should I apply for a loan?

When should I apply for a loan? I am a credit union member, I think I can get a better rate than Ford's finance plan. DId you have any experience with Ford's finance plan, are the rates good? etc etc. thanks!

I doubt they lock rates for more than 30 days. I think I would start to shop closer to the delivery date.

Keep an eye on interest rates but I wouldn't waste your time until you get a schedule date and a VIN number.

You can't apply for a loan until you have a VIN, and at that, you're much better off waiting until the vehicle arrives at the dealer.

I'm not planning to until I get a ship notice, or maybe a week before Ford tells me it's coming. I have a history with Ford Financing, they've always been good for me, so I may not even bother to apply beforehand, just handle it with the Finance guy. I have good credit, shouldn't be an issue (hopefully!) Also, you start applying for any kind of loan way before, that's a potential credit hit -- if you're on the border credit score wise, that COULD drop you a point or several.

I agree with Maverick st.i would Make sure and maybe get it pre approved before it gets here just to be sure you have a approved loan.then worry about rate.you never know in this day and time what could and could not happen with a loan.
