FX seems to have less hoses yay and such. The front intake clips didn't survive removal and I would sure like something beefier. I tried the last push pin from another project but it didn't fit. Is there something better than what I have pictured ? Zero chance even when new this holds the needed tension .

Does anyone make just a dry panel filter w/o having to buy an intake?

Sweet! Looking good. How's the sound from the intake and feel any improvements?

I am still waiting to buy the S&B and hoping Black Friday the price will drop. But definitely buying the S&B intake. I did go ahead and install the BOV adapter and loving the extra sound.

OK, been waiting for someone to address this issue. The S&B looks so well designed with the exception of the apparent scoop. Is that scoop only there for convenient mounting? Is there a constant cross section divider, A scoop type air intake is basically never a good idea. If no internal wall to keep the cross-section constant, then I would assume any power gains are from the less restrictive filter.

Basic physics, If air is pushed thru a diminishing cross section its velocity must increase, when velocity increases pressure drops, the last thing we want is to feed the airbox with low pressure air. I know this is not intuitive but as a retired professional mechanic, motorcycle and auto racer, private pilot and kit builder I have spent my life studying these effects. Look at how small given the HP the air inlets are on F1 and Indy cars, look at the very small air intakes on WW2 aircraft. If you are old enough to have worked with carbs then you know this is exactly how the venturi in a carb works, decrease the cross section, air speeds up and pressure drops, low pressure in venturi allows atmospheric pressure in the float bowl to push fuel thru jets.

Not saying the S&B is bad overall, just that it could be better. I suspect the designers knew that far more prospective buyers would be impressed with the scoop, and having no idea of the physics would buy the product, can't blame them there, business depends on sales and if the remaining system is a net gain, why not?

Really liking my S/B intake- Nice feeling of more oomph, a growl you can feel in the pedal and very nicely built- The intake scoop is compartmentalized if that was the previous question.

As in a constant cross section? Not scoop or funnel shaped internally?

Its got like 3 separate cross section/angled internal dividers -
