Yep OP states he got the Badlands with the 2.0- Back to a few years ago the sales manager at our local dealer was glad Ford didn't try any of that 1.5 - 3 cylinder nonsense with the Maverick -

Just curious as to what you would replace the Mav with and why?
My Mav replaced a Buick Rendezvous, partly because it was twenty years old and didn't have a trailer hitch, but mostly because it blew a head gasket which totaled it. I could have managed most of the things that I have hauled in my Mav including a couple of 16' 2x6s that I had to use a trailer to haul w/ my Mav*, and in the case of another trip where I was hauling a lot of stuff for about 100 miles, a trailer would have sufficed. We find the Mav more difficult but not impossible to get in and out of than the old Buick. What would I replace it with? I'm not sure. I would want some decent towing, not 4k, but similar to standard Mav capabilities and a decent cargo area. It's not lost on my that it is easier to just roll up the tonneau cover and put the tailgate in plywood mode than hauling plywood with the Buick as that meant tying down the tailgate as it couldn't close w/ sheets sticking out and/or pulling the backseats, which didn't require tools, but were heavy, awkward and where do I put these seats in the meantime? So, a replacement might be as 'large' as a Mav and equally difficult to get in and out of.

*I would be okay w/ hauling a couple but not much more long pieces of dimensional lumber on standard roof bars of my Buick, but just in town from the home center. I can't do that w/ my Mav w/o a lumber rack system, and while all of my previous trucks have had lumber racks, I don't want one on my Mav for those occasional times that I have to haul long lumber for the once in ten year fence repair.

I've had Ford trucks for as long as I can remember. I'm a bit older now and my Home Depot runs are few and usually for nuts and bolts. My hauling lumber and stuff for remodeling or rebuilding are over. My SO asked if I really needed a truck and I gave it lots of thought. As of Monday, I'm in a Bronco Sport Badlands. It's pretty much a very updated, 2 foot shorter Maverick with a hatch instead of a bed. I did keep it red. We'll see how it goes. :)

does the Bronco have a similar ride? (soft or better)

I end up with crap in my bed two or three times a week. Stuff that would not fit in my previous Bronco Sport.
And I don’t have to hook up the 5x8 trailer.
My Mav is so handy.
Agreed! I looked at the BS but found it to be just too small for me. Heck, my '16 Genesis Coupe was bigger ;) I still hunt, fish, haul "supplies" to the tailgate party before the football game and can easily put four golf bags in the bed ;)

Congrats on the new Bronco Sport, see you over on that forum! Curious what you think about the transition. I had a full-size Bronco but want to move over to the Maverick.

Seems a bit smoother. However, the Badlands has the up graded off road suspension. Too soon to know for sure how they compare.

Just about the time I start thinking that something comes up like yesterday when I needed to haul a filing cabinet out of Mom's apartment. Cabinet and dolly used to move it fit perfectly in Bret's cargo box. Did use a couple tie straps to keep it from sliding out on takeoff. I recon I'm stuck with a truck, even if it's a little Ute like this one!

And... I'd like to sell my BS to move to a Bronco, and eventually sell the Tremor, I don't need 2 cars

The Bronco is brother to the Maverick, so you haven't really left us. Congrats and I hope it treats you well!

Both could be fine to own.
I found maverick feels more stable. +wheelbase does it!
Screenshot_20251120-121611_Chrome.webp
Yeah, when I was looking at my purchase I actually drove both of these back to back and that longer wheelbase of the Mav made for a noticeably smoother ride which tilted the decision for me.
