Wishing you many more new year's, sir. 🍻

Glad you are OK, and something like that does make you look at life and the future. I lost my daughter when she was 29, so it is always scary when people your age face a crisis. I just had a heart attach and 5 bypasses done 6 months ago and still going strong. My wife and I own a business and put in 45-50 hours per week, but thankfully not in the physical labor side of it. Enjoy your life and may God grant you good health.

I had them on my Chevy Colorado which sits much higher than the Maverick. Found them to be more of a hindrance than help. The beauty of the Maverick is that running boards are not needed. That being said, if you're more interested in looks, then it's all a personal preference.

I have not received my Lariat with the off-road package yet but is coming this month. I was wondering if it needs running boards or is it not necessary? If some have been put on, what brand seems to be the best.
yes, yes it does

Do you need them? No. Do you want them? That is completely up to you.
If you want them, get them. It's your Maverick to accessorize as you see fit.

I probably won't get any running boards for the Maverick. I sat in one several months ago, but didn't remember of the entry. I am 79 and sometimes we need a little boost in climbing into a truck. I have them on my f250 with 4 wheel drive.

Looks like we are getting to the point where we need an "Advanced Middle Age" forum. There are sure a bunch of us - 76 here. Like you, I had a RAM and almost needed a step ladder, but even for someone short like me, the Mav is a breeze.
I am 77 and don’t want anything too tall or too short. A full size truck is in comfortably to get in and out of and I can no longer get in and out of a Corvette. I took delivery of a Mach e GT PE last January and my Maverick is being built this January. Soon the best of both worlds. The Mach e for around town and the Maverick for on the road.

I installed a set of iBoardauto.com (from Amazon) six inch wide running boards on my Lariat. They do lower your ground clearance by a few inches but not any lower than your stock mudflaps so they shouldn't be an issues.
