I was following a thread and read tsb, ssm, fdrs, epb, ebb and so on.....is there a reference for all these acronyms? I knew my 50 years working on old stuff wouldn't help with new technology but didn't know I had to learn a new language.

Thanks!

Same here.
I am fed up with acronyms.

Retired from GE after 25 years of Diesel engine building. They actually had published a list of acronyms at one time. It drove me to write a satire to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire", by the title "We Just Can't Say the Big Words!"

Let's not forget the 8th graders who can not type out Walmart but have no trouble with Wallyworld or flea Bay for eBay.

I don't know how much help it will be with the acronyms in this forum, but this is a fantastic resource for acronyms in general: https://acronymfinder.com/

To add further confusion, most are initialisms since they are verbally communicated by speaking the individual letters. Unlike true acronyms like SALT NATO.

Now we just need the comic brains here to decipher the acronym MAVERICK! 😂

50 years in medical field. Acronyms steadily grew until there would be more of them than words. Glad to be retired!!

excuse me, GTBR !!

Not to be argumentative, but y'all seem to be confusing initialisms and acronyms. Initialisms are a series of first letters that cannot be pronounced - like FBI. Acronyms can be pronounced as a word - like scuba and fubar. That said, my favorites were at the Veterans Health Admin. - every program name they came up with had to be an acronym. Drove me friggin' crazy.
