All of your concerns are non-factors from a neutral unbiased perspective.

You have personal opinions, which is fine, so do what works best for you. No one here can really speak to that.

Good luck!

Our 2024 Lariat Hybrid actually will cost us less than our ordered 2023 model with the same options. Ford packaged together a lot of the optional accessory packages. The only extra options we ordered was the moon roof and keypad. With the private offer and Farm Bureau will be getting $3000 off MSRP.
Selling price does not control depreciation. The 24's started rolling off the production line on Oct 18th. That puts a years worth of depreciation on any remaining 2023's which should be sold at a discount. But these are still in high demand so who knows.

I guess I just don't understand the concern over deprecation.
I have kept my previous vehicles (All Rangers) from 12 - 14 years...

Same here still driving a 20 year old 2004 Ford Excursion PSD. Looks like new and I get offers on it all the time.

On the XL, the 2024 reduction in options and addition of hybrid engine price made the 2023 the deal for me. I'm getting more options on a 2023 than the 2024 maverick I had ordered; for less $. Even at 2K OVER msrp on the 23.

So you are going to wait another 13 months for a Toyota?

A new year model Toyota at that lol.

Your dealership sounds awful. No way I would have stuck with them. It's also why I refuse to pay anything up front to place an order for a vehicle they will have zero problems selling with or without money up front. They sound like scammers and I'd personally rather drive 8 hours than deal with scammers.

But if you think the wait will be any less for literally any vehicle in demand, and you "lose interest" over a shitty dealership, then you are in the wrong market. There is no such thing as a good dealership, only tolerable ones.

I just received notification today that my truck is shipping to the dealer. I ordered it 2 years ago! It’s just a XLT model that has rolled from a 2022 to a 2023 to a 2024. In the mean time I purchased another Maverick at MSRP. Is anyone looking for a 2024 which should be here shortly? I may just buy and flip the 2024.

Just received an email stating my 2023 XLT was finally built and shipped on Oct 23, 2023.
Should I reject an end of the model year build?

It has been 13, almost 14 months since ordering, I think I've really lost interest and might prefer a Toyota. Really ticked off about the long wait.

I'm concerned about depreciation since the 2024's are about to come out. Plus, concerned about the quality of the build with the UAW strike.

Or should I just accept the order and flip it for a competitor?
I would take it. I waited 18 months for my 2022 XLT hybrid, with lux, rear window, moonroof and picked it up in December 2022. I payed way less for more vehicle than the 2023 and I think they have cut out even more on the 2024.

Yeah, learned the lesson with the Maverick, never buy the first year of a new model. Never, ever. Don't. Just don't. Did I say, don't? :ROFLMAO:
Thats why I waited for the 24 model hybrid. I hope they fix some of the problems.

I haven't heard from the dealership or sales person since last November (Mullinax Ford in Apopka, FL.).
They placed my order on the 19 SEP 2022 and said it would be 6-8 months to get the truck. Got an order confirmation email from Ford on 20 SEP 2022.

On 27 OCT 2022, I received an email requesting me to sign a "blank vehicle buyer's order" and pay $100 to secure the vehicle order. Said I'll pay the $100 but won't sign a blank contract.

28 OCT 2022 get and email from the sales person, "We do this so incase Ford wants to check to make sure we have a real customer ordering and not a made up order."

09 NOV 2022 I contacted Ford Customer Care to get clarification on the situation with the blank Vehicle Buyer's Order. They said "DO NOT SIGN" the blank document, have a face to face with the General Manager and come to an agreement with the vehicle to be purchased properly documented, and if they refuse, "Walk Away". Ford Customer Care had not heard of an incident like this before (wanting the customer to sign a blank purchase agreement). They said I had met all of Ford's requirements to order the Maverick and even confirmed the order with my information was in the system but was not in production.

16 NOV 2022 emailed the sales person the information from Ford Customer Care.
Haven't heard back from the sales person or the dealership since last November.

Have called several times and left voice mails, even tried to contact of salespeople, always get their voicemail and no return call. Not driving 3 hours one way to have with face to face.

I do however get an email from Ford about every 45 days about the status of my order.
I have been dealing with Mullinax Ford in Apopka, FL. for a while. Never had a problem with them.
My salesman name is Sonny and as of today he was been good.

Better to have buyers remorse before signing the paperwork. Walk away.

Furthermore... @P8ANFO, if you read posts when 2024 MY details were announced, you would know many folks prefer the 2023 over the 2024 due to items being removed (such as the built-in keypad), how Ford requires package combinations people may not want (such as XLT luxury with the BAP), discontinued colors, etc.

As @FischAutoTechGarten stated, you are asking for validation for your decision to give up your Maverick. Hopefully, you decide to purchase and keep it. If you don't, you should let the dealer sell it to someone who truly appreciates your configuration.

We were pleased when we arranged to purchase a Cactus Gray 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid with CP360 and hitch two weeks ago that someone didn't take. We paid a very small ADM that made buying the 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid cheaper than the 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid we have on order.

Do the right thing. Buy and enjoy it or let the dealer sell it to someone else.
I've been checking out AutoTrader occasionally just to see if there's a 2023 out there cheaper than the 2024 that I could very easily cancel.

I'm not sure how you did it or if you just got lucky.

Depreciation hits all cars as they drive off the lot. BUT, it only matters if you sell/trade in sooner than 2-3 years after it settles down. Enjoy the truck as a 24 will depreciate right off the lot as well.
