If all the UNIQUE features offered by Ford Maverick are not something you care about, then go with something else.
These UNIQUE features include:
1- Hybrid Engine (high MPG)
2- Relatively Low Cost
3- Small in size but highly utilitarian
Everything else is the same as all the other competitors, or other competitors have their own benefits that this one doesn't have.
I do think the only other alternatives that offer better reliability are Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline. All other trucks are going to be equal or worse in quality, reliability, and depreciation.
The only problem with Tacoma is that they tend to be way overpriced and they can be problematic with certain model years. On top of that, they are kinda boring to drive. An SR5 quad cab with a basic 2.7L engine runs about $32,000 MSRP. That's about $9000 more than a base model XL on Maverick. Appreciation will favor the Taco. In 5 years, the residue value of the Tacoma might be still around $23,000 while who knows what Maverick's value would be (it all depends on its reliability).
Ridgeline is in a completely different price range.
