Has anyone experienced the AC running even though you don't have the button pressed?
I noticed it happening several times, I don't have the defrost or windshield setting on, it's simply set to blow air at me.

I just want outside fresh air without the AC compressor running.

By any chance is the automatic button pushed because that will do it all on its own and will switch back and forth depending on the outside temperature

Yes, all the time. I think

Yes, all the time. Seems like a simple request, fresh air without AC. No AC lights on, but AC is running (cold air from vents, engine lag). Threads may have a work around, will try some of those.

No the auto isn't pressed, but none of the other settings were pressed like GPS Man had mentioned.

I first noticed this on a 100 degree day. I had the AC turned off, had the temp set to 75 degrees and had all of the windows down. I put my hand in front of the vent and it was ice cold. If the temperature outside is higher than what you set it to, the AC will automatically run. Technically it uses inside temp, but if your windows are open then...

I believe the HVAC sensor also senses humidity. The AC will start when it senses higher humidity in an effort to keep the interior windows from fogging. I notice this happening more often in the summer on humid mornings. I'll be driving with the windows down and not running AC. Cold air will start coming out the vents. The LED by the AC button is not lit. Auto is not on. Just running fan with outside air. There are other threads on this and there is absolutely nothing in the owners manual. Only happens to me when the humidity level is fairly high. I could be totally wrong, but have had my truck for almost 2 years now and this is the best theory I can think of!

Same here. We live in Southern Alabama where it's hot and humid. I wanted to enjoy the "cool" morning air with the windows open. The only way to shut it off is turn off the fan. BUMMER

Okay guys/gals you are way overthinking this micro climate system. Here is what you do; when you first go out to your Mav, stand only on your left foot, then push the unlock button, do not push it twice or you will have to go back in the house, get back in bed and restart your morning. Assuming you got the driver's door to open correctly, get in the driver's seat and properly latch the seat belt, here is where this gets tricky, make a fist with your left hand but leave your pinky finger out, place the first joint of your pinky in the left corner of your mouth, Ford calls this "putting your Mav in Dr Evil mode", now tug your right ear lobe three times, put the key in the ignition and turn to Acc mode (if you have push button start, you are so screwed), shift your weight to your left butt cheek, start the Mav. So you got in properly, you are belted in, and you did the secret hand shake, you are almost there. Push and hold the mic/talk button and say "HENREY", this places the Mav in listen mode, you then must say the VIN#, but it must be from right to left, wait for the beep and then say "let me decide". This will allow you to operate your Mav on your own terms. This bunch of crap looks a lot like my owner's manual. LOL
