My air conditioner fan seems to turn itself up randomly when I have it on the lowest setting. It doesn't do it all the time but it pretty much only does it when I have it on the very lowest fan speed and then totally random it will just turn it way up. I don't have it set on automatic temperature control either. I'm wondering if anybody else is having this weird thing happen in their truck? It doesn't indicate the lights have turned up the fan it just starts blowing harder and I can't get it to slow back down

I've never noticed that with my Maverick, but it was a regular issue with the Chevy Trailblazer I traded in for it. In that case, turning the entire climate control system off and then back on cured it. Like rebooting a computer it seemed to clear the cobwebs.

OMG, thank you for posting this! I've had this happen a few times (usually when I'm on the highway, and have had the AC running for a while), and I thought I was losing my mind. It definitely kicks into another gear for a few minutes, then goes back to normal. Glad I'm not the only person who has noticed this.

Strangely, I notice it most when connected with CarPlay. I swear the AC gets quieter once I take a call and then goes back to normal once the call ends. I legit have no idea why it changes so much 😅

I assumed/think this was for noise cancellation while you have calls or interface with mic.

Easy way to reproduce is put max a/c, have phone plugged in, and press the voice assistant. It’ll automatically lower the fan speed so the mic doesn’t struggle hearing you. Happens during calls the same, never noticed this otherwise

Mine does it when it’s on automatic setting. I believe it’s a feature so you can hear the phone call better.

I actually think that is a built-in feature so that you are having an easier ability to take that call. although if I am correct it would be nice to be able to turn that feature off

What you say here would make sense and I have noticed that as well when I am clearly getting a call or connected in various ways. But it will happen in my car when my Bluetooth is turned off I'm not plugged into car player anything else and it just randomly will increase the speed from the lowest setting

Ahhh, that makes sense. I've never had a newer vehicle with that feature lol.

Could be automatic temp. I usually keep it on low setting, if I set it to a specific temp like 72, I have seen it turn on/off to regulate temp.

I have this happen and thought the same thing - I was thinking how innovative Ford was to allow
Andriod Auto to signal to the climate control system to reduce blower speed.

Sounds like I was giving ford way too much credit for this innovation

As someone said, if it's with calls, that's how it works. Turning down the fan on a call and then turning it back up after the call is over. You can change the speed once the call is started.

As for this complaint by OP, I'm going to say it's with the temp setting. You're probably right at the appropriate temp and it's holding it there even without the auto setting.

What temp are you running and what's the outside temp. And is the truck leaving a garage or was it parked outside before you started driving when this happens?
