Hi there. This A/C concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I just set the temp and leave it in auto mode 2 it goes up to that speed then stops. I know you can turn the knob and set it to what you want then it shouldn't change at all.

The reason is you find the temperature that you are most comfortable with & leave it there, that way the cabin is always at the temp you prefer. I have found my temp is 71*. Auto temp control is nothing new, I have a 1964 Cadillac sitting in my garage that has this feature, it was the first year for it & by the 80's many vehicles had it.
Confirmation! The AUTO FUNCTION is that the AC setting is saved so that when you later return and start your truck the AC AUTOMATICALLY returns to the setting where it was when you turned truck off. I have noticed in mine that the fan speed is increased when the temperature in cabin is 2-2.5°F different than the set temperature. I have not paid attention but in automatic will the heater bring the temp up to the set temp minus 1°F and then automatically switch to cooling when it gets to set +1° (maybe +/- 2°F). This is the ideal automatic function I would like and expect!!!!

Make sure you have one of the human and arrows vent buttons pressed, otherwise it behaves in auto mode.
OK, got it, thanks. So, if I select one of these settings, the bahavior of it randomly speeding up the blower fan will go away?

In my truck, the only way to turn off the blower is to turn off all heat and/or AC, by pressing on the large round HVAC control opposite the fan speed selector control.

I have noticed the same issue in my truck. Only when I travel for extended trips on interstate. I typically keep it on low with front vent selected. About hour into drive it will blow like it put it on high.

Same here, the fan speed increases multiple times during long drives.
