When a customer cancels an order, and this is multiplied into the thousands, as is the case for the us market , and then not actually actually canceled as it should ,making it easier / quicker for those waiting to get a truck quicker . Ok , but that’s not the case the dealers receiving those abandoned orders, and raising the price 5000 to $12,000 this should be wrong or illegal,

now ,listen now the effect is walk in off the street
Get a truck they having never had order in period, at all!

That being said, if you had ordered a truck and took a early delivery of a truck ( somehow ). that’s one thing, but even then they didn’t cancel the order of the truck , they customer would of been getting ,then sell that one that you would’ve gotten eventually.

It's not just dealers. I got my Lariat hybrid after a 16 month wait. A few months after ordering the Maverick, I realized this would become a fiasco due to constraints and chip shortages, so I bought a new Ridgeline instead but never cancelled my Maverick order. I put nothing down so I didn't need to do anything but let the months roll buy and just see what happens while enjoying my Ridgeline.

Finally, it came in and I decided to buy it, even though it was more than I wanted to spend which was MSRP, because they would not honor the deal I made with the previous sales manager. I immediately put the Maverick up for sale, however, I did not try to sell it very hard and the only place I advertised it was in our forum's Maverick's for Sale section. I wanted to make $5000 profit above MSRP, tax and dealer fee. If I did not get my price it would be worth it for me to keep it. I did not want the dealer taking the truck because of me just walking out the door.

No one has approached me as the market softened since the summer, but I don't care because I like the truck too much. Not nearly the Ridgeline in comfort, luxury and most every other respect except gas mileage and purchase price, but I like the Maverick well enough to use it as my city driver and general use vehicle and the Ridgeline mostly for my long distance highway hauls.

If someone wants this truck bad enough to pay my price I'll sell it but if not I will love keeping and driving it. So it's not just dealers that are marking up their Mavericks. It's almost anyone who has one to flip.

My dealer or Ford “lost” my MY23 new order and later offered me an abandoned order modified to my original spec at MSRP. No price protection obviously but we’ll see how that works out. They do not add market adjustment to special orders but noticed they have 4 Mav XL on the lot at $2500 ADM.

To most dealers that NO Admin to special order means to the original customer. Most all dealer will mark them up if the original customer passes on it.

I’m rooting for you. Your likely in good shape with it in writing. I was referring to ‘most’ dealers and walk-in sales. Your in a little better position, seems to me.

Good Luck!

If they did get the truck if they let someone else have it especially someone that’s waiting for one for the same retail price or perhaps a little over that’s one thing but dealer asked 5 to 10,000 from people knowing when you’re gonna be completely underwater when things finally balance out, I understand to that no one’s twisting harmed by it, but that doesn’t make them fair dealers

My point is dealers should cancel it with ford M company,I ask no?
If They want allocations I don’t know how all that works , however, someone on here said they were selling for under MSRP so they could sell more , move more and get more allocations or deliveries and so forth. I’m not presumed to understand any of this I’m just saying .
Please fill, free to respond back strongly I can handle it because I want to be fair and understand.

I don’t see anything to argue about or to respond strongly to.

All these dealers are independent and operate to their own bands. I don’t know anything about your dealer, so they may operate in just manner you suggest.

Here’s hoping your right. Good Luck with your Maverick. 👍

Oh nothing, I've just heard the "dealers marking up Mavs to match market prices and demand is wrong and should be illegal" story a few times now...

I bought a canceled order that had a 5k markup, talked them down 3k.

Only waited a week for them to not sell it and called them back and talked them down on price to make the sale. Fully loaded Lariat for 39k
