I like the contrast in color. It makes the truck still look like a truck from a distance and the black looks good against the white.

I cannot tell from the pictures. Yet, it looks like you went with the OTR option. If so, then what do you think about the quality? And, it's not easy to tell from the pictures. Yet, the OTR surface seems to really go well with the plastic bed pieces.Yep, this was my thought process. I feel like on the lighter paint colors, the plastic cladding around the bed and back of the cab makes paint-matched caps look bad. I noticed that I liked the caps way better on darker trucks and I think this is why.
So, I decided to roll the dice on my cap in the hopes that it will look good. Also might be a little easier to re-sell in the future (although resale on caps is terrible in general).
The OTR is actually Line-X product, so it looks like bedliner. The biggest difference between OTR and paint-match is the surface finish...the OTR coating is rough and textured which gives it more of a matte appearance. I think it will also collect dust etc more.I cannot tell from the pictures. Yet, it looks like you went with the OTR option. If so, then what do you think about the quality? I would be interested in your honest opinion of the OTR quality and appearance since the A.R.E MX-series I ordered includes the OTR. My truck, however, is Shadow Black with the Black Appearance Package. I am trying to decide if I go with Shadow Black or stick with my original plan.
Diode Dynamics SS5, driving beam, selective yellow lens w/ amber backlight.Tell me more about those fog lights?
Thank you for the honest opinion of the OTR. I am aware of the drawbacks since I have had Line-X spray-in bedliners for years. My 2023 has a Line-X premium spray-in bedliner. The quality is great in my opinion. If I could change anything, it would be to make it slightly more matte so that it matched the black plastic trim a bit more. But, it looks good.
The inside of the canopy is more of an off-white, so it's pretty bright inside.

Some more pics.... You can see the OTR texture better in the sunlight.Thank you for the honest opinion of the OTR. I am aware of the drawbacks since I have had Line-X spray-in bedliners for years. Thank you, again, for sharing your pictures, details, and opinions. They are greatly appreciated.
Great pictures for seeing what the texture looks like. I agree with your opinions and observations. Thank you, sincerely, for sharing these additional pictures. I am glad I ordered the OTR and cannot wait to get my MX-series installed. It might look strange to have a black OTR shell on a Black Shadow XLT with the Black Appearance Package. We will see. I will post pictures in the ARE MX-series discussion thread as soon as it is installed. Some more pics.... You can see the OTR texture better in the sunlight.
