This started about 3 months ago. Over this course of time about 5 or 6 times while trying to play music on my iPhone with CarPay, the music only plays on the phone not on the trucks speakers, necessitating a reboot of the infotainment system. Not a big deal as tech is always buggy but hoping the forthcoming software update addresses this.

Noteworthy to mention, I am still using an iPhone 7 which is outdated but still works fine. I am too cheapish to spend lots of money on cell phones given the cost of everything these days. Maybe this may be contributing to the issue but it has always worked fine in my wife's Jeep.

Anyone else notice this?

Just had the same issue two days ago. Like you mentioned, I thought I hit a dead spot & lost connection. Will start to monitor it. I have an iPhone 14Pro, so we’ll see.

I'm convinced YUGO would put out a better infotainment system than the one we're stuck with.

Having your phone already unlocked when you get in it seems to help. At least that's what people have posted on MTC and Reddit.

I don't recall ever having this problem. But I don't buy apple products, either.

The infotainment system in the Maverick XLT is by far the worst I've ever had in any Ford I've owned. This is my fifth Ford, and the other four have worked flawlessly, The Maverick has a mind of its own especially when you get back in the truck. For example listening to music on USB 1, shut off the truck come back start it up and instead of reverting back to USB it goes to my connected phone. The only time it returns playing to what it was previously is when the radio was on AM or FM.

The few times it goes back to USB after restarting it takes forever to start back up and sometimes it will play where it left off other times it will pick a new random song it wasn't previously playing. I would definitely welcome the aftermarket stereo manufacturers like I data link maestro to incorporate allowing aftermarket head unit installs. Or a reasonably priced upgrade kit to sync 3 or sync 4 for trucks that didn't come from the factory with one of the newer versions of sync installed

It's not great for sure, although my friends 2013 F-150 with Sync 1 (or whatever the first gen was called), and it's worse, as hard as that is to believe.

I do find it hard to believe as I had a 2012 F-150 XLT purchased new with the first sync system and it worked flawlessly. About a year after owning it I replaced the OEM stereo with a aftermarket Kenwood with the eye data link maestro setup, and it was even better yet as I was able to gain so many features the truck didn't come with like being able to add an aftermarket OEM style reverse camera way better stereo and still keeping the factory functions of the steering wheel controls OEM microphone etc.

I added so many OEM things to that truck that it didn't have from the factory, it was awesome. Like OEM halogen puddle lights converted to LED the OEM keyless entry d.s. door handle. Aftermarket Rear under seat Kicker 10" sub and amp

But I do agree with anybody that the included system with the XLTs is horrible at best. I wish somebody would add the ability to integrate a aftermarket head unit into the Maverick.

That's not the same system, his has a colour LCD screen from the factory, not that monochrome thing. Yours clearly didn't have Sync. I don't think it was problematic at first, but after a year things started going haywire. Bluetooth is constantly dropping, sometimes doesn't connect, and he always uses streaming audio, so it pisses him off a lot.

His looks like this...

Yes I know the one you're talking about, it was a small 4-in display that also showed the backup camera on it. I was just saying the sync system in my 12 XLT was better than what's in the 24 Maverick XLT.

The 4-in display in the 13 XLTs replaced the two line dot matrix display from the previous infotainment system I had in my 12, you can see it in my previous post with my aftermarket Kenwood installed. The two line display was retained and still functioned properly with the Kenwood head unit.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about my 2012 had sync 1 in it from the factory.

Not my truck, so no I don't know what was in your truck. 😜
Obviously...

You can see in this attached photo it had sync The ones with Sync had a small silver plate near the USB port at the bottom of the stack that said Sync by Microsoft I believe.
