It’s been about a year since I did an update on my ‘23 MAV hybrid build mini RV. Here’s the original write up thread:

On to the updates:
I built a twin in bed slide out drawer system with a hidden slide out work table on one side. It works great to have a food prep table next to the dual fuel Coleman stove. Almost all the wood to build this came off my Woodland Mills sawmill - white oak and basswood for this project.
On the passenger side I added a Timber Ridge 6x8 roll out awning. I’m impressed with the quality/cost (Amazon). What I really like is the expandable pole system that lets the whole thing stand without any ropes.
I added a temporary tarp awning off the back to cover the kitchen/cooking area when the drawers are out. If this works well I’ll probably add a Timber Ridge 5x8 roll out awning instead of the tarp on the rear.
The roof of the tent got a 350W solar panel. It feeds into a 2000AH Jackery battery system. When the sun shines it’s WAY more capacity than we need to keep the house fully charged.
Fire extinguisher added - just in case. 1.5 gallon external lockable gas can for the Coleman and “just in case”. The StarLink mini has worked great. I need to mount it so we can use it while in motion.
Last I built a 5 gallon passive solar shower system. It’s 4” PVC and holds almost 5 gallons. It has a schrader air valve on it. I can hook my DeWalt powered hand held air compressor to it for pressurized showers. If we are easy on the water it’s plenty for 2 people to have a hot shower.
My biggest disappointment has been the Jackery battery system. I have an Explorer Pro 2000. The 3rd one in under a year died yesterday. It was working as it was supposed to until….absolutely nothing. I’m going to ask for a refund. This has screwed up 3 of my trips because of the unreliable quality control.
We are on a month long trip in Canada, currently on the north shore of Lake Superior, headed east to Maine and Acadia National Park.
As it sits now I’m averaging right at 30 mpg driving the speed limit. So the “penalty” of bringing the house with us is about 10-11mpg.
Yes the cat is with us. She seems to enjoy being on the road!
