5 year cost of ownership?

These amounts seem way to high! Our maverick is 2 and a half years old. We average 10,000 miles a year. Our amount for gas would be 2340.00, insurance at 638.00 a year is 3190.00. Plates are 168 a year so 840.00 for state, finance is zero since we paid cash. Repairs zero so far.and maintence for us would be 300 so far.thats 2 oil changes a year at 60 dollars per change.our first 3 we used Ford pass points.our factory continental tires still look new,but even if we have to replace those at 5 years that's only another 600 bucks..what was this article based on,driving 60,000 miles a year?

My dad pays 5K in Bradenton, Fla. 23 Toyota Crown. Drove 4k in a year. Never had a ticket or claim. Florida is a mess for home owners as well.

It's a no fault state, basically take your run of the mill insurance cost in a normal state and double it.

Fuel = I have to look at my log book.
Insurance = $1400 per year
Financing = $0 paid Cash!!
State Fees = $120 a year(personal plates, axle tax for MKE city and Co.)
Maintenance = $90 (did my three oll changes, myself; tire rotation the same)
Repairs = $0 (but, my add-ons/Mods... $$$$)

I have had "Blu" for 22 months now!

The numbers need a comparison to averages for other vehicles and a regional breakdown. Most of the US population is in high cost/high risk areas. (Big cities prone to floods, hurricanes and earthquakes).
Small town/rural/low cost/low risk will be a much different picture. It's a good thing we get stretches of subzero and snowstorms otherwise everyone would want to move here.
