My 10/17 estimate delivery date to TX was removed from my hybrid order today...its not looking good.
My guess (and it is a guess) is that Ford now has a better idea of when EPA will certify the MPG numbers and they are recalculating the delivery dates. If that's true, then we should see new delivery dates published fairly soon.

A plausible scenario is that Ford has hung its hat on a "40 MPG Hybrid" and the EPA has come back with "39 MPG" or whatever. That would be a black eye for Ford and they might be making Herculean efforts to tweak the number back up to 40 MPG, accepting short-term delay for long-term benefit.

What I don't believe is that there is going to be some indefinite delay or failure in the certification process. There are some new parts here, but nothing is radically different from Ford vehicles that the EPA has certified in the past.

You got an update regarding your hybrid? I ordered one June 10th and haven't heard a single thing since.

I ordered July 16th and received a VIN less than 1 week later. Lariat, Hot pepper red with Co-pilot option. In production now, per Ford tracker.

At this point it seems very likely the rumors are true and the hybrid will not be produced until sometime in the spring. They must be having some major issues with getting parts or some problem with the revised electric motors. Ford needs to update the hybrid build on their webpage to say something like coming soon spring of 2022.

There have been a bunch produced. They just can't sell them yet. They're waiting on EPA approval to sell them. That's it.

I'm not sure that's the most plausible scenario. Ford would have had to mess up pretty bad to make the Maverick that much less efficient than the Escape (even though the EB has comparable numbers). I think the most plausible scenario is that the hybrid maverick was one of the models selected for EPA confirmation of the numbers, and just like everything else right now, those processes are working slower than initially anticipated.

One thing is obvious. They don't expect the EPA numbers to come soon enough to meet the delivery dates they removed. Does anyone have later hybrid delivery dates that haven't been removed?

Be sure to clear your cache and try again. I think some people have had dates disappear/appear because of caching issues.

My Hybrid 2021 Escape (titanium) AWD sticker is 43 / 37 - 40 average. Ford could not have screwed up enough of a already locked and loaded base to get this below 40.

And technically speaking, they did launch in fall. Units are getting to dealerships and members are getting theirs.

Yeah. And the FWD Escape hybrid is even higher at 44/37/41. Based on the comps for the EB 2.0 AWD, if the hybrid has the same relative efficiency it would be 42/35/39.

Well, the Maverick is longer and heavier with a higher target tow rating, so it is very possible it wasn't able to get to 40mpg in the city. But, I'm not sure how many people would cancel hybrid orders if the mpg is 39 city and 33 combined. IFF, it is more like 30 combined, I'll be canceling and getting and AWD ecoboost...lol.
