I don't think I'll get a car without the ACC and Lane Assistance after having it for the first time in my Maverick. So far I have 25,000 miles in 9 months on my Maverick with about eight 12 hour drives. I used to be absolutely gassed after those drives but now I still feel great when I get to my destination. Not having to worry about the pedals for a few hour stretch is a dream and with lane keep basically does most of the work while you just help guide it it where in needs to be and make sure it keeps you in the lines. There's no fighting the steering wheel on the PA turnpike mountains anymore. The only minor complaint is the ACC does get up to speed a bit faster than I'd prefer once someone leaves the left lane.
Same experiences and you're higher mileage than me. I do 300-500 mile roundtrip a few times a month in Kansas. The wind can be severe and it's almost always out of the north or south, and I'm often traveling east-west.

The Maverick ACC can steer into strong crosswinds and keep the truck between the lines on 2 lane highways. I used to have a sore neck, forearms and shoulders after a long day fighting the wind. It's completely gone and I feel a lot better.

Regarding accelerating fast, have you tried eco mode? It does accelerate quickly in normal mode with my ecoboost truck but I don't find it strange unless it then has to brake right away. It's pretty weird to be caught behind a slow car, speed way up, and then 30 seconds later brake for another slow car. Eco didn't give me any more mpg at highway speeds so I stopped using it, but when I was experimenting I think it did accelerate more slowly while using ACC. I could be wrong, I haven't tried that in months.

2022 Maverick Lariat hybrid is our first auto with any lane centering. Took a bit to get used to but on long trips (WA - MT) it's a really nice thing to help reduce driver fatigue, especially on the long straight stretches. That's really where we use it. Really noticed it helped a LOT when we had big side winds in ID / MT - it made that driving wayyyyy less stressful because it corrected for the wind pushing us with a lot less effort on the driver's part. 'Didn't expect it to be that good, but it was.

It really is night and day difference having just that little bit of help steering. Glad I'm not the only one who really enjoys it.

I have not tried eco mode with cruise control thats a great idea. I'll see if it has any impact. My main complaint is when I have passengers and its an immediate down shift to go back up just a few MPH. Again that's just a very minor thing, I'd rather have that than it take a mile to get back up to speed but good to hear a potential work around. Cheers.

My XLT LUX with CP360 could be better, but I'll take the blind spot and cross traffic for sure. The OP mentioned tracking. One thing that bugs me about my AWD is how poorly it tracks down the road. It takes constant attention. I'm not a suspension engineer, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the AWD setup. My old RWD Ranger used to track absolutely straight. This Maverick - you gotta watch it.
You might want to have your alignment checked.....it should not be this way. My AWD tracks very true.

As to the lane keep, while it works well, seems pretty pointless, since you have to keep your hands on the wheel. If my hands are going to be on the wheel, then I should be steering anyway. Just 'resting" them there feels very uncomfortable.

Wheel buddy? Please elaborate or show what you used
Not sure what they mean but, in my 2021 Crosstrek, I used a waterbottle as my wheel buddy. The vibration of the road caused the water to oscillate in the bottle which was just enough to trick the steering wheel sensor into thinking it was a hand on the wheel (**I do not approve of anyone doing this for any reason. I did it in the name of experimentation)

Mine likes to ride the fog line. So it takes more effort for me to steer. I leave it off unless I'm unwrapping a burrito.

What, pray tell, are you people doing when you take both hands off the wheel on the interstate?

Why?
Of course we are letting Skynet drive for us.

I've been using it religously on the highway. Compares well to the Hyundai system I have in the palisade but not as good as Telsa's in the wifes Model X. But more than useable.

Love the system in our Volvo, but that's twice the price. As an older guy, these systems save my bacon. You start to lose focus, lose vision, lose coordination and reaction time. Lane Keep Alert, Cross Traffic, Blind Spot Monitoring, Emergency Braking - all those systems rock for me personally.

Same here. Pilot assist (lane keeping) on my Volvo is great; on the Maverick I'm not even sure it's doing much of anything. Still, I wouldn't buy a car these days without Cross Traffic alert and Blind Spot Monitoring.

I believe the point is if you happen to get distracted and drift near/over the line, it will correct that instead of you going off the road or into oncoming traffic.
Mine seems hit or miss. I barely feel any vibration, even on high, and it sometimes gradually drifts me back over. Other times, just from testing it out, it's kept driving over the line.

Now my ACC/Lane centering is fantastic!

Edit: I think you're talking about ACC/Lane centering not Lane keep assist.

My salesperson didn’t know what she was doing. I didn’t realize adaptive cruise was an additional package. Between the two of us, I didn’t get adaptive cruise, an option on our Armada which I really like and my wife hates.
I do have the lane assist and I think it’s great. Many of these county roads don’t have good lines, but I find it helps me quite often. With all of these corrections it makes me wonder if I drive as badly as my wife claims. 😬🤣

lol....ok. Prolly better to just not get distracted. 🤠

I still think it's dumb. 🤔

The spacebook takes two hands to scroll and type. Plus tweetering is a handful as well.

I unwrap my burritos in advance.
