Good Luck to all of you lining up to get the Slate I’m sure it will be debugged before the launch I personally wouldn’t take that risk - I watched the Maverick develop over time and pulled the trigger on my 2025 never considered buying this one but who could resist this beauty for 37K before TTL
Not gonna lie -- I plopped down my $50 for a place in line. Fully refundable and I can wait, watch and decide whether to order if/when the time comes. Not much to lose IMO.
Meanwhile I continue to enjoy my 22 Maverick XLT AWD at original pricing and 0.9% financing. It'll be paid off well before I'd ever get my Slate, and at current Maverick pricing and interest rates, I think A LOT of shine is off the Maverick apple.
To reach his own, but a Slate might be fun and a great addition to my fleet. I can hold onto the Mav for longer road trips and keep overall mileage down by using the Slate as a local runaround.
Love the customization options and you don't have to buy the SUV kit or other options up front. Can always add things later and if it makes it, who knows what they'll come up with in time?

Hybrids have basically made diesels irrelevant in the max fuel economy game for basic light passenger vehicles that are not operating in the arctic or towing a whole lot. Not to mention if you're a fan of old, reliable tech, the atkinson cycle ICE Toyota and Ford use at least is your basic naturally aspirated, port injected, no gee wiz stuff that actually makes it a ticking time bomb.
I look forward to all electric vehicles getting better and more common because ICE vehicles will still be around for a long time, and electric tech improving also makes hybrids better so less of your hard earned $ goes into the fuel tank.

Interesting development this week. A Toyota VP confirmed they're going after the Maverick. He said they've been studying a small truck for years, and it's just a matter of "slotting it in". I'm not a Toyota guy, but more choice is always good.
