So my '23 blacked out mav arrived saturday. Never got to even get in one before then. So why is my "all black" mav outfitted with some gross blueish ugly interior? Is that all they offer? I mean it looks horrible inside :(
I ordered the blue exterior because of the blue interior on the XLT.

I ordered BAP for my Lariat so I would not get the desert brown + Navy Pier. I liked it, but not with the color paint I chose (resale value). The Build and Price calls the Lariat interior with the BAP out as "Black Onyx" and the pictures show no blue at all with the black.

So you never looked a interior pic online...? Never noticed that the interior color is clearly called-out on the Ford specs...

I love how consumers never take the effort to get information for themselves, then blame the business/manufacturer/etc when things aren't as they assumed. "They didn't tell me!"
There are things you shouldn't need to research and one of those is a black appearance package and the implications your interior is black not black and blue.

Howdy, when I go to the Ford site and build a Lariat with BAP I see this picture with lots of blue.. Console, lower dash/glove box door, all seat bases, etc.. Perhaps you landed on the wrong picture??

You can click the pic to enlarge.

Because Ford screwed the pooch on these. Blue inside every model. Can't escape it unless you re-dye yourself.
I am absolutely NOT a fan of the blue plastic interior. I am somewhat surprised that I have not seen any threads here where people started down the path of an interior color change. There are some very good quality paints/dyes these days (that you will NOT find at Wal-Mart). I used SEM Color Coat in my UTE on plastic with great results, but I admit it's on interior sunroof trim plastics that don't see a lot of contact or risk or scratching/scuffing. I don't mean to thread-jack from the OP but if anyone has strongly considered this or started down this route, a different thread on this topic would be worthwhile.

I can't believe people here hate the blue, but say nothing about all the cheap, plastic-toy looking gaudy XLT interior. I can't believe any self-respecting adult would drive around with that all day. It's embarrassing, and was the main reason I went for a Lariat.

Couldn't imagine picking a date up in that Tonka-toy looking interior.

I saw a thread where some guy went in and added MORE of that crap to the interior. like WTF?? You don't have to mod shit just to mod it.

Just be advised there is still a lot of blue in the interior. The dash, the trim pieces, etc etc are all still that recycled blue they use in every Maverick.

I'm guessing you know that and are just referring to the other blues, tans and copper inserts and seats.

I have done it on other vehicles with great success. I'm going to have to see how much blue my XL has, and how much it bothers me. I go to an automotive paint shop and have them mix the color I need.

Some of us are either married or are reasonable enough to understand that unless you got HPR, the brown pleather and it’s accents are pretty gross too. There’s also us that can see where Ford cut cost to build such a reasonably priced vehicle.

for those curious, if you swap the orange console tray for a black one, the orange blends really well.

I looked at changing my order to the BAP for my Lariat. Saw the pictures while researching, and decided the black didn't look as good as the brown contrasting seating in the lariat. It was clear that the black seats still had the same blue panels around them and the dash area. Now that I have the carbonized gray lariat, I find the blue/brown interior actually looks a LOT better than I was expecting. The blue just does not stick out as clashing in any way. The brown adds a nice touch and compliments the bronze trim on the dash of the lariat.

It's a fairly subdued blue which may appear gray in the pictures to some people. One guy who has his truck was adamant that his had gray trim. Many people have some degree of color blindness- it is not rare. I would rather have gray in my Lariat but I don't mind the blue at all. I like it with Carbonized Gray- not sure I would like it with every exterior color. I haven't had any problems with scratching but I am pretty careful with my stuff.

I drove a Lariat with the standard interior and I thought it looked a lot better in person than in the pictures. I still like the black option better but to each his own. Like you said I did my research so I knew what I was getting.

The gaudy XLT interior is the main reason I went with the XL. I wasn't going to pay extra for that, then pay extra for the Lariat or BAP to get rid of that.

I don't care for either of those gaudy interiors. I chose the XL because of the black cloth seats. And I didn't have to pay extra for them. I will never buy another vehicle with vinyl seats, and not a fan of leather either. My wife had a 2013 Escape Titanium with the leather trimmed sport cloth. Those were nice, and still very comfortable to sit on.
