22 lariat with 34k miles. Just noticed my headliner is already peeling by the driver side A pillar. Anyone else having this issue? Is this a common problem?

Did you have the airbag recall done? Maybe the dealership damaged your headliner in the process. My '22s headliner looks fine.

The headliner on the right side of mine sags a bit. The whole thing never quite went back right, especially since the headliner was taken down twice because Evergreen Ford left parts off my initial recall and it had to be rechecked by the dealer I bought it from. Unfortunately, they're cut laughably short.

In general, I agree. But I'm past leaving it at the service department with my poor experiences so far. My last visit, I was informed that it would have to be there 2-3 weeks. Not happening.

Yes it is common. The headliners are a little undersized and/or the black weather strip is slightly undersized also. From day one the rubber along the tops of doors covered the headliner about 1/32" in places. When my air bag recall was done dealer couldn't get edge completely covered replaced the a pillar plastic on both sides and then replaced the headliner and still had problem. Tech showed me several brand new 2023's on lot that had headliner just to edge of weatherstrip. I took truck home and adjusted (pulled down along top of door openings about 3/32" from being totally seated on the flange) weatherstrip and managed to get coverage, barely. Have not tried but think that if the weather strip was installed while compressing it along top of opening it might fatten up enough to cover more. Then you might need a 1-3" piece added to get the ends to touch near the bottom of door opening. I checked mine a few minutes and had to readjust the weather strip again most likely due to less than 30°F temp shrinking the weatherstripping.
SOME OF THE 22's had headliner replacement recall with mine not being one of the covered vin numbers.

My 2022 Maverick came like that from the factory, with the same issue near the A-pillar. It looks like the headliner is a bit too short in that area, leaving a small gap that isn’t fully covered by the rubber door seal. I decided to fix it myself rather than take it to the dealer, as I didn’t want to risk them making it worse.
