Have had the 19" tires (lower profile) on my current Escape since I bought in 2020. Agree, ride is a little harsher than a smaller rim with more side wall, but have had no issues getting tires. Ordered my Maverick 8/22/23 and by this past spring both my snows (17" rims) and the original tires were shot... Neither would pass inspection. Went into a local tire dealer, guy came out to look at the tires... Said, strange size.. lol. Went back in and was even able to find a full set of used tires in that "odd size". Bought the set so as to get me to when I get my Maverick. Came in to the dealers last Monday. Will get it either Thursday or Friday. Was 13 months and 1 day from order to it arriving at my dealer.

Plenty of options for a touring style tire. Not many for AT. Don't imagine most people with an escape will be running AT.

I do find it annoying and I plan on getting some 17" wheels for my AWD Hybrid Lariat that I will put ATs on. My goal is to weigh the factory combo and get as close as possible in weight (or less!) to try and minimize the MPG hit.

I won't go wider than 235 though.
Smaller wheels and tires will get you BETTER mpg....Less wind resistance, less tire-to-road resistance, and less overall weight.

The 2022 lariats had 18" wheels. When they first came out the 225/60/18 Michelin primacy were the only selection. It took about a year for after market selections to. Become available. 235's are more available as they were the small suv general size. You might check 235/60 or 65 and 18" wheels. On my 225/60/18 primacy the OEM are 1.5-2lbs lighter than the after market which have .5-1.0/32" more tread and probably a different compound and are rated 10k more miles. I am considering continental True Contact 80k tires due to weight and tread compound with single polyester belt along with $178 price for the 225. The 235 is heavier load rated and about 3lbs heavier at $210.
24 Lariats Have the same size (225/60/18 Michelin primacy)
I really like the wheels and tires on my 24 Lariat. The Michelins ride very nice and smooth. When it's time to replace them I'll probably go with the same or maybe bump to the 235 or 245.

You have the factory machine faced 18" Lariat wheels?

I have the 18" BAP wheels that I'm looking to trade for.
I already got aftermarket wheels. Dont need multiple sets so im just looking to sell.

For our geographical location, getting 3PMSF rated tire is worth the 1-2 MPG hit. Leaning towards 225/65/17

For our geographical location, getting 3PMSF rated tire is worth the 1-2 MPG hit. Leaning towards 225/65/17

No reason to buy an AWD hybrid just to torpedo efficiency with some 255 monsters. Also would further stress the weak CV axles as is.

235 Wildpeaks were just fine on my tremor.

The original version of the Destinations are what came on my Wifes 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. They work pretty well for lighter vehicles and also get incredible treadlife. We got 80k miles out of them.

im not a Firestone fan but they’re on the list. I think the Wildpeak AT3s were like 37lbs a tire and the AT4s are even beefier so I likely won’t go that route.

I have found the KO2 to be the heaviest tire of the lot.
I believe you’re correct with the Wildpeak AT4s giving it a run.

It will likely come down to the Open Country vs Destination with an outside chance the Territory RT get some consideration.
