My thoughts:
- The matte looks good with to 22-24 grills, but the 25 grill is more of a gloss finish.
- The matte textured finish will stubbornly hold bug guts, whereas the smooth gloss will show scratches more easily.
There is good and bad about everything except mosquitos, they just suck!

So, after waiting a month for my Ford hood protector, it arrived broken as expected. I received my refund and may be ordering the Husky wrap around, under hood mounted, no contact, air deflecting hood protector for $50 less than the Ford one. The edges on the Ford hood deflector were much rougher than I would have expected, so much so that I wonder if it was a counterfeit item even though it was stamped with the Ford logo.

I’m not sure which of the three pictures I like the best honestly… maybe I ponder a bit longer. Any suggestions? Maybe bull horns instead?

I can’t decide if I want a bug deflector or not, so steer horns it is. It is a Maverick after all. I just need to engineer an ez-on ez-off mounting solution. I am a little embarrassed to admit it, but I always thought a Maverick was a type of horse. I discovered the term "Maverick" originates from Texas rancher Samuel Augustus Maverick (1803–1870), who was known for not branding his cattle. Because his cattle roamed unbranded, neighboring ranchers began calling any stray, unmarked steer a "Maverick," a term that soon came to represent an independent, nonconformist person.

Try driving through Texas during the "love bug" season. I used to have to stop every few minutes, or so it seemed, to get them off my windshield. If I didn't get them off when they were "fresh"... I'd probably have had to get a sand blaster to get them off.

Try fabric softener dryer sheets, moistened, or used on a wet truck.
Worked extremely well last time I tried it a few years back.
