2025+ EB transmission beefed up?

Good evening, new to the forum here, ive been a long time lurker. Im in the position to buy a 2025+ maverick. Ive been leaning towards the hybrid 4k tow package, however recently the EB model has me second guessing things. In previous years, the transmission for the ecoboost has had it's issues. I read in one thread that the 2025+'s got a stronger 8 speed transmission, however i have not seen that information anywhere else. Im aware they upgraded the hybrid ecvt, but did they also beef up the EB models?

I will be occasionally towing 3,000 lbs (5 times a year less than an hour drive)

I don’t know that they beefed up the EcoBoost transmission, but I also don’t know what “issues” you’re referring to. CV joints have been problematic across the board, but not the Maverick transmission itself, as far as I know.

I would not call the transmission “robust,” but you also have to understand that the programming limits engine torque in a lot of situations, especially based on steering angle. Ford basically designed around any fragility in the drivetrain for the most part.

If you are looking at the 4K package on either drivetrain, you are on the right track, and I would not let the transmission be the deciding factor.
