My 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD Backup Camera often looks “blurry”, like moisture got inside. It clears after a day or so, but then returns following rain. Anyone else having this problem?

I haven’t noticed that, but I have noticed that it’s terrible in the dark. Extremely blurry and pixilated. Perfectly clear in the daylight though. My 2014 F150 was better quality even though it was 11 years older. I figured the tech would be much better by now.

The low light performance is pretty bad. Check if it's related to low light associated with rain. My backup camera is blurry at night or overcast.

Thank You. Will compare night vs. day.

I find that mine dims too quickly when backing into a shaded space.

It sounds like what you're describing is what happens when water gets on the surface of the lens, which happens when it rains, when you drive through puddles, and could happen with morning dew. Have you gotten out and looked at the lens when you have the problem?

Yes, keep a clean microfiber in truck for that.

I decided to actually use my backup camera yesterday. When I put into reverse, I noticed a " + " sign in the upper left corner. I touched it and the camera showed me the area right behind the bumper! So if there was a dog, or a small child right behind my truck, if I put it into reverse and press the " + " sign, I will be able to see that blind spot and wait till the coast is clear. I didn't know I had this feature!

CurtisB,

I think that feature is intended to help you line up when hitching up a trailer.
But yes, it could also be helpful is keeping you from backing over something as well.

OP,
The lens on my ’24 model gets smutch on the outside of it all the time, fogging up my view from inside the cab. Most often its just from condensation on the outside of the lens (on mine). I have made it a habit to swipe a finger or soft cloth across it every time I walk past it to get in. That solves my problems.

But it sounds like you might have some condensation on the inside of the camera though. I’m curious if your problem goes away as the weather warms up and the temperature/dew point spread increases.

Either way, its giving me a view that I can't see from the other camera angle.

Dann, I will let you know as the weather changes. My dealer is aware of the issue, but it’s not urgent, so I’ve decided to watch and document it for a while.

On some Ford trucks, when you hit that +, you get to pick from the camera mounted on the back of the roof, the one on the tailgate pointed straight back, and the one on the tailgate pointed down at the hitch like you mentioned. AND...on the 250s and 350s you can have those 3 viewa on when you are driving forward at highway speeds to watch the bed, the trailer or down at the trailer hitch connection. Pretty cool.
