I decided months ago that the stock 2024 Hybrid Lariat of mine needed gloss wheels instead of the satin black factory look. I jacked the truck up using a bottle jack, one corner at a time. Used 2 and 3 ton jack stands to mount the Maverick off the ground. Worked great. Removed all wheels. Scoffed the rims with 3M green Scotch-Brite #96 pads or you can use the same thing found in grocery stores as a scouring pad or at Home Depot or Lowes marketed as a sanding pad. I primed the wheels with Rust-Oleum primer and used Dupli-Color high performance wheel spray gloss paint. Turned out great but the photos do not show how great they look. The Dupli-color spray paint is awesome, gives a super fine spray with no orange peel. Top coated with Duple-Color Clear finish. Painted the calipers red with Rust-Oleum caliper spray paint and painted the "Lariat" on the fender badge.

I’m not the black wheels/blackout fan base, but that is an Awesome Job, Well Done!!!
My only thought/question is how do any of the painted outer rim edges, factory or diy, hold up to tire changing machines?

Paint holds up just fine to tire changing machines as long as you have a trusted tire/alignment shop to do the job right. You can't trust the guys at Walmart or the large tire centers to take the required care.

I can't even trust my dealership to do the job right. They mounted tires for me and did enough damage to the wheel finish that they ended up paying for my tires after admitting that they had a new guy on the machine that didn't know what he was doing.
