2024 Hybrid battery

Does anyone know how many Amps you need to supply to close the circuit and engage the hybrid battery for 12v recharging? I'm just wondering if something like that side install can properly handle the current necessary for a "jump."

Go find that thread that is commented on above - you'll find readings given of the low battery V & A that still allowed truck to start (which allows what you are desiring - recharging from HVB), also what values were too low to start.

@DadsLariat - the system starts turning off everything else per design in order to leave enough to start. Not an issue, per design.
That same thread will help determine if there is another underlying issue though.

I’ve been getting phone notification of battery sleep mode. I dont drive often and apparently the battery doesn’t like it. I want to install a trickle charger to keep battery charged. Where do you hook up cables? Thanks 2024 hybrid lariat.

I use a BatteryMINDer if the truck will sit for a few weeks.

I have a different model from the same company on a vehicle that is driven seasonally and sits for 6 months at a time between being run. Battery's have lasted for years.

It does the same thing but does not have the added lights to show you the level of charge.

I've had my 2024 Maverick Hybrid for 6 months now.

I was on a 15 day vacation in April and got a notice on Fordpass that it was in deep sleep after 14 days. The only thing i noticed was my dome lights didn't come on. It started just fine and after a few minutes of driving, my dome lights work normally.

I just got back from an 11 day trip, no messages on Fordpass, but again , my dome lights did not come on when I opened the door. It started just fine. I took a short drive and the dome lights are back to normal.

It this a problem or a feature ?

This is 'normal' abnormal behavior for the hybrid. Ford folks will tell you that the shut down is a battery saving feature, yet I know of no other Ford vehicle that does this. Standard answer from dealers is to drive the truck more often to keep the battery up to par. Until Ford addresses this, it seems the best solution is to use a battery tender. Granted, a pain in the rear to connect and disconnect, but if you're not using the truck on a daily basis, it's workable. Probably would not be wise to use the Maverick hybrids as any type of quick getaway vehicle. lol.

That is not for jumping. It is to trickle charge.

I have to use trickle charges for my cars because I don't drive much. Also OCD about keeping the batteries charged. For a hybrid mav, do I have to use a particular type of charger. I have a deltran solar trickle charger that can be used on lead, lithium, AGM. I have a deltran that plugs into the outlet for lead acid batteries only. What should I use on a hybrid mav. Not familiar with this hybrid alien tech and rather be safe. I see the jump points, but would like to also trickle charge, because of the limited use. Thanks
