I'm in the market for a new Maverick, and noticed on the Ford website that "Lane-Centering" appears to be an option available for the XL and XLT trims, in addition to "Lane-Keeping Aid"? I checked on Internet Archive, and this did not show up for 2022 and 2023.

Is this a mistake, or some type of mid-year change?

That function is part of the "Co-Pilot 360" optional package on the XL and XLT trims

Does your '24 XLT have actual lane centering? As in, you turn it on and it actively stays in the middle of a lane?

Any mention of lane centering on the Maverick I've seen so far is that it's intrinsically linked to the Adaptive Cruise Control that only comes with the Co-Pilot 360 Assist on the Lariat package.

I have the optional CP360 that includes the features in your screenshot. So yes but admittedly I haven't taken my hand off the wheel to test it. The link provided above explains more about the feature and it's settings. I definitely would not equate it to hands free steering in my opinion.

There is lane departure (end of the turn signal stalk) and lane centering (in the cruise control buttons on left side of steering wheel). Both a part of CP360. Lane departure is off for me because it vibrates the car, but the lane centering is awesome, especially with ACC.

I did some quick research and don't think this is accurate. I know the screenshot of OP's first post says "Lane Centering - Optional" on the XLT but lane centering requires ACC which is not available on the XLT. The XL/XLT CP360 has "Lane Keep Assist" but not lane centering. Correct me if I am wrong but here is what I found regarding it:

I have a 2023 XL with CP360. There are two settings, one is the vibration in the steering wheel, that let's you know you are to one side of your lane. The other mode attempts to steer you back towards the center of the lane. No you can't turn the steering wheel loose and it will self steer, I believe that is illegal.

No it does not. Lane Centering is standard on Lariat and not available on XL or XLT. Lane Keeping Aid/Alert is available as optional on XL and XLT though.

It should disengage if you jerk the steering wheel enough. It shouldn't try to override you.

That is exactly what my Hyundai does and does very well. The "lane assist" that came with our XL CP360 is a useless joke.

You can over power it, but if you aren't careful it will almost over steer. It will teach you to use turn signals at all times. The turn signals turn it off as long as they're on. I finally turned mine off, that lane is mine and I roam around and use it all.
