Might I suggest you change the title to include the word hybrid? These are all specific hybrid issues.

That said, 3 1/2 weeks and 1300 miles on my '23 and I've experienced none of these.

Assume you meant 'none' of these? I just picked up my hybrid Monday and only have 26 miles on it. But I'm not noticing significantly grabby brakes at low speed. It does feel different than physical brakes on a gas car but nothing that jerks me to a stop.

Hybrid issues mostly? I hope so. Everytime I worked in any type off assembly line factory we didnt go a month without a fix or improvement happening.

Grabbing Brakes
Defective Wiring Harness
Going into Deep Sleep when in operation
Dead Battery
- Grabbing hybrid brakes at low speed has been fixed with a TSB for 2022 model. No sign it is an issue on the few 2023's that have been delivered.

- Defective wiring harness is no longer an issue, build dates when it is a problem have been posted someplace but I can't find that right now. I have not heard of any 2023's with that problem.

- Going into Deep Sleep is a lot more complicated. I don't think it has a single cause and while a lot of the issues seemed to be related to the failing wiring harness, it is possible there are other causes. Keep in mind 'deep sleep' itself is not the problem, it is the result of a problem that the truck is trying to protect itself from.

- Dead Battery (assume you mean 12v) also seems to be a 2022 only problem, but 2023's have not been out long enough to say for sure.

The grabbing brakes is a software fix so I would imagine it has been fixed on the 2023. I had it it is fixed.

Of the 4 you mentioned I have not experienced any on my 2023.

There is a thread on here about a shudder when coasting and the engine switches between electric and combustion. I think I felt a minor version of that the other day - like a lighter version of hitting the grooved pavement at the edge of the freeway. It seemed to be related to me switching drive modes while in motion, while coasting. I haven't experienced it when setting one mode and sticking with it.

I picked up my 2023MY hybrid last week and have driven it every day since. Knowing the low speed brake issues existed, I tested it often and so far there has been no "hard grab." Setup is straight from the factory. I know the dealer did not install the brake fix update prior to me picking up my Maverick. Here's to hoping the issue doesn't pop up later.

Keep an eye out for rough and loud idling on cold start ups. Lots of hybrid owners are having this issue, especially in colder climates. Ford is aware of the issue but I doubt you will ever see a recall. Mine is currently on a lift with no engine or transmission while they “hopefully” fix it. The issue is the transmission. Hybrid escapes also had the same issue with the same transmission so I highly doubt they fixed it in 2023. This issue also causes the engine to misfire. Good luck. I’m hoping to lemon it after this.

Perfect time for a Coyote swap and a six speed manual!
