2022 Ford Maverick Towing Harness Installation?

Looking to have a 7 pin harness installed. Have called few dealerships. None have given me quotes yet. One actually told me to call another dealership. Seemed odd and made me worry it was a tough one or too small for them. LOL

So, questions...

• Is it difficult to do on your own?
• Anyone received quotes from dealers? If so what approximately how much am i looking at?
• Any suggestions?

I don't have a trailer yet. But wanting to have it ready in case I rent one or borrow a neighbors. I will usually be hauling lighter utility trailers and just need the 4 pin options for brakes/turn signals. Figured I would go ahead and get the installed in case I need it and can always us a 7 to 4 converter. May one day need it for small camper, etc.

You probably won't get a dealer to attempt a 7-pin retrofit, since the 4K package is more than just the wiring. Since your truck is limited to 2000# trailer weight, and few trailers under that weight have brakes, maybe having a 4-flat to 7-pin adapter is the easiest solution?

My Ford dealer up here in Canada installed a brake controller and 7/4 pin connector for CDN $750 (USD $550). Although my Tremor is limited to 2,000 lbs, my thinking was three pairs of brakes are better than two. Besides, more and more lightweight trailers now come with electric brakes (ie Rove).
