Maybe I'm a bit too literal in my way of thinking....

But ordering a 1st Edition of Something kind of implies that you will be 1 of the first to receive said object. You were not treated well. Definitely a patient person.
Well, though that is true…there was nothing malicious in the intent. Ford could have been more open in their process, for sure, but they did communicate where the vehicle was in the process…and thanks to such folk like @fordvideoguy - I was aware of the constraints. Granted, thats probably an official Ford PR person’s job - but its not like anyone lied to me…

…and its not like we can heap the troubles of the world upon any single entity to alleviate our personal discomfort.

Philosophically speaking, Covid sucked the life out of a lot of things…and the world changed. We can either adapt or be consumed by angst. I chose the former.

Congrats on finally taking delivery, very similar story here, 532 days for me. the good news is the truck is so good, you will forget all of that agony amazingly fast.

They can't do that. You should call Ford. If you signed the agreement when you ordered, that's the deal
Ford Motor Company said that dealerships are privately owned businesses, and although they frown upon what has happened to me, they cannot do anything about it.

I ordered this Maverick in July of 2021…

2022 First Edition, Hybrid

It took until 4/8/2022 to get scheduled…It was re-scheduled 6 times — finally getting built on 7/5/2022…

It then sat in Mexico for a month waiting a shipment schedule, which it received on 8/3/2022.

…which was then re-scheduled 5 times…

It finally arrived at my dealer on Columbus day…10/10/2022. I went the moment the wheels touched Texas pavement to take delivery…

Only to find (after 5 hours and all the paper work complete) that the vehicle could not be sold to me due to the side airbag recall. And that I would have to wait until parts were available to do the recall…

…so, I waited ANOTHER 3-4 months while it sat in my dealer’s show room. I would visit it several times a week and dream…

— But I finally made it. It took 568 days…but I’ve now had it for two weeks, and I love it so much.

I’m on day 439 waiting on mine and it was delivered to the dealer today. I’m getting an after market spray in bed liner and window tint. Dealer let me drive it to the shop today. I will probably finally own it Wednesday or Thursday next week. They need to service it and install my after market accessories.

Congratulations on finally getting your Maverick, after what must have been an excruciating wait...

My truck is also an Area 51 First Edition Lariat Hybrid - twin to yours! It was built June 28, 2022 and shipped to the local dealership - where it sat until Dec 7th, waiting for the airbag recall parts.

Somewhere along the line, the person who originally ordered it got fed up and bought something else. I guess I was the first to get the call from the salesman who was repositioning it from the service bay back to the sales lot after the recall work was complete. I put a deposit down on it during that firsst phone call, and picked it up about an hour later!

I find it's a LOT easier to wait patiently for the Maverick I ordered (Hybrid Lariat inCyber Orange with BAP) now that I've got "Twilight" (my wife's name for the Area 51 Mav) sitting in the garage... We love our Maverick!

Yea, that blows. Luckily my dealership was all professional…they wanted to sell it to me as much as I wanted to buy it…their hands were just tied by Ford, same as me.
Kinda. Your dealership could have done much better with the airbag recall in my opinion.

The vehicles affected by stop-sale were supposed to be all resolved *before* any parts were available to vehicles that were already on the road. I just had my recall done last week and they got the parts in like 3 days. I'm not going to search for it right now, but I"m certain that folks got the recall done in January, maybe even December. They started posting about getting the Yeti water bottles, that's how I noticed (and cared enough to get mine done, lol).

You've got it now, congrats, and you have the best-looking wheels available on any Maverick produced so far. But I really think the dealership could and should have gotten that recall done months ago.

Wow, Josh! That was a looooong wait!
Good for you. Happy that you finally got the truck. You are a patient man. I don't think I could have done it. Waited 10 months for my maverick and that was difficult enough. I hope you have many years of happy motoring.

For what it's worth, my airbag recall work was completed by Dec 7th, 2022 - the day I bought my Maverick.

Your truck is beautiful and worth the wait! I have a similar story. I ordered in September of 2021. My truck arrived the day before yesterday. However, my dealership offered it to me with a $2k markup over MSRP and informed me they have another buyer at $7k over MSRP if I don't accept the deal. Salt in the wound came next when they told me they did not have information on the private offer from Ford Motor Company. I believe the private offer is being worked through, but the mark up is still an issue. I may have to walk away from my Maverick. What my dealership is trying to do us unethical.
What's the name of the Dealer so we know to stay away. A customer ordered truck should be MSRP. The private offer is another matter. I ordered mine on Sunday Dec/26/2021 to beat the price increase. I picked it up Nov/8/2022. Paid MSRP. The dealer then sent me a check for $1500 6 weeks later for the price protection.

Would anyone know if it's Ford Company or Dealership responsible to match price of original order of '22 to receive '23? I ordered my '22 on Sept 24th 2021 and received '23 on Feb 24th 2023.. 17 months from order to receiving it. Ford gave a $750 rebate and I had to pay a extra $1600 from my original order price that we sign for in sept 2021. During the process I received about 8 different emails from Ford about my truck schedule date had been changed 8 times. They also said if it goes to a '23 model they would make a private $ offer. I did not revive a single email from Ford about my '23 truck in production. I didn't change any accessories or option between the years. I keep calling my dealership to find out answers and in late Dec they were able to give me a vin # and build date. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated to get some or all of my $1600 back.

There are many things Ford Can do about it. Dealers do not hold all the cards. Ford can use Carrots and Sticks.

Respectfully, you picked a strange place to ask this question. I would either open your own new thread or at least post in one of the many threads in the Ordering subforum talking about private offers. Here's one to review: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...n-order-to-fix-a-missing-private-offer.28386/

Congrats on your truck. I hope it is everything you envisioned. If it helps any, I'm at 500 days tomorrow and I still not been scheduled or have a VIN.
