I ordered this Maverick in July of 2021…

2022 First Edition, Hybrid

It took until 4/8/2022 to get scheduled…It was re-scheduled 6 times — finally getting built on 7/5/2022…

It then sat in Mexico for a month waiting a shipment schedule, which it received on 8/3/2022.

…which was then re-scheduled 5 times…

It finally arrived at my dealer on Columbus day…10/10/2022. I went the moment the wheels touched Texas pavement to take delivery…

Only to find (after 5 hours and all the paper work complete) that the vehicle could not be sold to me due to the side airbag recall. And that I would have to wait until parts were available to do the recall…

…so, I waited ANOTHER 3-4 months while it sat in my dealer’s show room. I would visit it several times a week and dream…

— But I finally made it. It took 568 days…but I’ve now had it for two weeks, and I love it so much.

Is the black trim on the tailgate aftermarket or part of the 1st edition badging?

Aftermarket from Ford Accessories…as well as the door wind shields and bug deflector…I had a lot of stuff ordered waiting on a truck to install.

You have far more patience than me. I ordered in October and was scheduled and canceled. It was in production for three weeks and took a week to ship. It's now been sitting in a Tampa rail yard for two weeks I guess waiting for another train to Orlando? No one can seem to give me an answer. I'm already going insane with it being that close. I couldn't imagine having to wait 3 or 4 months with it right down the road.

Worst part of that was knowing that the recall happened 4-5 days after my truck was built…and it was sitting right there at the plant while they built hundreds of others with the other parts…and they still shipped it KNOWING the recall would prevent sale.

It was a pretty frustrating comedy of errors..

Your truck is beautiful and worth the wait! I have a similar story. I ordered in September of 2021. My truck arrived the day before yesterday. However, my dealership offered it to me with a $2k markup over MSRP and informed me they have another buyer at $7k over MSRP if I don't accept the deal. Salt in the wound came next when they told me they did not have information on the private offer from Ford Motor Company. I believe the private offer is being worked through, but the mark up is still an issue. I may have to walk away from my Maverick. What my dealership is trying to do us unethical.

I wonder if you have THE last 1st edition built? A few months ago someone posted they thought they had the last one. I thought I might have one of the last ones, delivered 11-12-22. Enjoy! I am!

They can't do that. You should call Ford. If you signed the agreement when you ordered, that's the deal

JOSH--Pretty truck-good you were blessed with the patience of Job. I think I would have killed someone over the recall! You forgot to order some mud flaps! I ordered some Ford OEM flaps even though they are supposedly a Ford shortage item and got them thru Amazon in 3 days after my truck arrived.

Yea, that blows. Luckily my dealership was all professional…they wanted to sell it to me as much as I wanted to buy it…their hands were just tied by Ford, same as me.

You still got the exclusive rapid red…sometimes I wish I would have done that…but I just didn’t like the idea of a red truck with blue interior.

I don’t really want mud flaps, personally…I don’t like the look much, and all my driving will be in non-mud situations if I can help it.
