Hi everyone,

2 years ago today I took delivery of my 2023 Atlas Blue XLT Hybrid. Ordered on 9/19/2022, so took just over 12 months to get the truck.
I bought the truck to upgrade from a 2006 Jeep Liberty as the towed for my Motor Home. The Maverick checked off my needs: towable, room to carry all of our "stuff", comfortable for excursions while traveling, affordable, and better fuel economy than the Jeep.
By now the Mav only has 6,633 miles on the odometer, but has almost 22,500 miles being towed behind my MH. It's been a bit of an adventure: death wobble requiring replacement of the steering column (twice due to dealership receiving bad part 1st time), numerous Neutral Tow errors where truck just gets stupid and won't always disengage neutral tow (I keep a 10mm wrench in glove box to pull negative battery cable to clear the error) this has become less frequent, one instance where the truck battery ran down to 0 volts due to a blown fuse in the charge line from my MH - this is a mystery, and finally the Vehicle in Battery Saver Mode "feature". Since as can be seen from odometer miles I don't drive the truck a lot, the battery thing is not unexpected and the truck always starts right up for me.
Overall I like the truck. It serves the intent that I bought it for, it's fun to drive, gets great gas mileage (~40 mpg), has plenty of room for all of the extra stuff we seem to need to carry with us while traveling, and I like the looks of the truck. If not for the annoying neutral tow errors and the battery issue I could sway towards loving the truck. I plan to keep the truck for the foreseeable future.
BTW I have an exact copy of the neutral tow procedure printed and laminated that I use every time so I don't think those errors are procedural and they are infrequent.
Some of my aftermarket additions: Ford mudflaps, Mabett fender flares, Mabett rear shock covers, Mabett DS rear suspension cover, Roadmaster baseplate (self installed), Roadmaster charge line, Demco lighting harness, RVI2 supplemental brake, Jason Pace Plus topper, hood struts, tailgate strut, orange tailgate letters, Maverick door sill protectors and ongoing :)

Safe travels,

I was waxing my Maverick recently and went to put it in neutral without starting it to push it a cpl feet. No go. Never had a vehicle you couldn't push in neutral before without starting. Is it a easy fix?

I was waxing our maverick recently and tried to put it in neutral without starting it to push it a cpl feet. No go. Never had a vehicle before that I couldn't move it in neutral. Is it a big process to do?

Neutral Tow is a feature only available on the Hybrid, not the 2.0 Eco. Nevertheless it seems like the Ecoboost Should free wheel in Neutral??

Unfortunately the Ecoboost Maverick cannot be moved this way, without going through the process for towing with a tow truck (in owners manual). The parking brake automatically applies when you open a door, so no way around this. I don’t know the process, since it changes from MY to MY in some cases.
