There is a limit to how much bass you can produce from the door without blowing the door and speaker apart. The factory amp has enough power to do just that.
If you want pounding bass, then add a sub in the back and secure it firmly. The front speakers can then use a crossover to block low frequencies and protect the door and door speaker from blowing apart. The powerbass speaker is rated at 60 watts and the factory amp peaks at closer to 200. Ford gave you the power. Now it is up to you to use it wisely.

I prefer to just keep the volume down.

Sounds like cheap door plastics and not a blown speaker. Don't most factory premium systems include protections for this? I've never had a blown speaker in a car that came from the factory with a premium system, and I have put them through some punishment. I've owned cars with systems from Infinity, Harman/Kardon, Bose, JBL, Lexicon, and Mark Levinson. Only Bose is their own company, the rest were subsidies of Samsung who own Harman.

If Ford made the system capable of loud bass, I don't see why you can't play your music that way. If Ford didn't think it could handle it, why give people access to it? Meaning if Ford doesn't want anyone listing to music over volume 15 than why do they have it go up to 30? Clearly they think it can handle it right? I don't mass it out but volume 20 sounds good when I have the windows up on a nice day. We will see what the dealer says I guess.

Ok, I have to bite. You can produce really loud bass out of the door speaker. Just put in a speaker that can handle it. But then, you have to worry about blowing your door apart. 1 minute of loud will not hurt anything. But if you consistently turn it up to that level, things will break including your ear drums.

I have always appreciated that Ford over powers everything when cost is not a concern. Take the tow hitch receiver. Lots of manufacturers put on a 1" tow hitch on light vehicles so folks don't overload it. Ford give you a 2" and expects you to limit your loads.

The air conditioner and heater put out huge amounts of air and sounds like a wind tunnel when set on max. Great when you first get in, but don't leave it like that or you will face the consequences. Try that with a Subaru.

Your truck will go over the speed limit. Do you want Ford to put a governor on vehicle so you won't get a speeding ticket?

God bless America, where you can still sell a product with too much power.
