2 month wait for RIVAL skidplate, installed with Krown rust proof undercoat

So after 2 months waiting I finally got in the @RIVAL 4x4 skidplate, quite light actually, aluminum but a good 1/4inch thick, no shoping mall curb-hopping teenage driver can take out my Mav now.

Maybe we can setup a Maverick class rally stage, need a snorkel next, just because dont ask why.

Oh also discovered the Krown lifetime warranty only gives an option for "Province" (Canadian) not "State" so hopefully no warranty calls.

For Indiana people, I went to the Krown dealer in kokomo, IN, pretty far out down cornfield back roads but a great little place, father & son garage let me sit back & watch & use their lift to install my skidplate.

Btw I didnt get a skidplate just for a nice door for oil changes, its for peace of mind driving on trails & young drivers at a campsite who didn't see the decorative rock & drive over it - skidplate lets you come out without major underbody damage - ripping a chunk out of your radiator, smashing the AC evaporator, & cracking your oilpan.

If you have teen drivers, you need a skiplate on every vehicle they drive.

Lifetime underbody rust Warranty if you get Krown undercoating within 6 months of car manufacturing date & getting it resprayed every year after.
Mine was manufactured Jan 2025 but I still got lifetime warranty.

For 1-2 year old cars youll get a 5 year warranty against new rust, also getting it resprayed every year.

For real though, unless you live in the north of the rustbelt with daily road salting wearing a coating of salt slush under your vehicle, undercoating the Maverick brand new & then every couple years is all you really need.

I just spent a couple weeks in New York State I have never seen so many 10 year old vehicles beautiful waxed on top transitioning to bubbling rust holes around the wheel wells and SUV tailgate bottoms & handles - I'm talking Mercedes & Lexus I have never seen a 2010s Lexus RX300 looking like it was dipped up to its wheel bearings in caustic rust bath like I did in upstate New York & north Michigan.

In the South you'll see a crapload of flaking clearcoat & faded paint before you get a bit of bubbling at top of wheelwells & door rockerpanels, or surface rust on the roof or hood as paint wears off - in Northern areas theres no clearcoat flaking or paint fade, but looks like some rust monster took a bite out of the body work you are looking inside the friggin car -- it was honestly traumatizing that people live with these vehicles in the rust belt I had dreams of the driver seat dropping through the floorboard at highway speeds, so they are in a different world needing undercoating yearly where they are weekly pressure washing salt off the bottom of the car.

Just installed mine this weekend. They have access panels you can unbolt to get to both the drain bolt/oil filter.

I think it's for the transaxle, my hybrid had it too. Rival doesnt make one with a scoop.

When I installed mine, I found the rear holes were already threaded, but the fronts were not. I didn't like the nuts with wires attached, so I slightly oversized the holes so I could install rivnuts in the correct size. I also replaced the original hardware with stainless, just for good measure.

how do you get to the oil filter?

There's 2 removable plates, 1 for oil filter & 1 for oil plug. Plate is in perfect place for hybrid motor but ecoboost needs a funnel to not spill on the plate.
But who wants an ecoboost amirite
