Not trolling! It is a subject worth discussing.
I think it is worth discussing. But once the consensus among the customers and those who work on them in the field is that the solid lifters are not a problem at all, the person should simply acknowledge that their fears may have been unfounded. But some continue to argue the point based on what they think will happen even though what they think will happen doesn't happen in the field, only in theory

That may be true of this type of engine, but it is more about the brand issues.

You might be right, you might be the one man in millions who have noticed that an engine in service in L5-VE form since 2008 with the same solid lifters installed, and known to do upwards of 300,000 miles, should actually have a problem with them and nobody actually noticed over those 17 years and millions of miles, and owners have been deluded by the motors seeming to run perfectly despite this very obvious defect.

Have people been having problems with Maverick lifters? Any new vehicle will last 150k with regular oil changes. How many people will keep it long enough to worry about stuff like that? I put 16-18k a year on my vehicles. I’m ready for a new one in 6-8 years. Have owned many vehicles from ford to Chevy to dodge to Mitsubishi to Toyota. All I have ever had are minor problems. People work their self up over crazy stuff. Drive it and change the oil.
In the 1970's I had a neighbor who never changed oil. He just traded in for a new car about every 16-18:months when it hit 75-85k miles. I saw one on a lot one year with "ONE OWNER" banner on it.

His knowledge of the Maverick is pretty much limited to his gut feeling and opinion . He said he never worked on one. He mentioned the solid lifters and stated that they'd need adjustment, and it would be expensive. This let's me know that he has little knowledge of the history of this engine design in general or the fact that this particular engine has been used in Fords for Many years. The fact that Ford doesn't even list valve adjustment in its maintenance schedule.
Maybe he gets his oil changed at a Valve Adjustment Specialist dealership?

No different than a Volvo B230F engine. Many have run over a million miles.

Oh the Drama !
The Horror, the Horror of it all !

My Ecoboost will choke to death on carbon,
My Eight Speed will come apart,
Solid lifters oh woe why me,

I’ve only had nine Fords, drove the shit out of each one.
Never had any problems.

My last Toyota, a $3 seal failed in the steering unit rendering the whole thing useless, that seal is not replaceable,
$1,600 later a new steering unit at 50,000 miles.
Shit Happens right !

But for some the sky must be falling.

It's a discussion, you are creating the drama. That is a long reply.

Yeah you’re right.

Post #78:
I'm a Ford tech and don't really know either because we've not had occasion to have to do any engine work on a Maverick other than a water pump or two on an EcoBoost. I can't even recall anyone in our shop replacing a valve cover gasket on a hybrid Maverick. That's a testament to their reliability in our area.

NONE of the Ford engines that use solid lifters have problems with valve adjustment in normal use. Some of the EcoBoost engines on non Maverick vehicles have head gasket issues. But NONE have a reputation for issues related to valve adjustment. . So it's a non issue. PERIOD.
