I was wondering if anyone has a picture of Mavericks engine block with the head off. I would like to know if its closed deck or open deck block design. I know my older fusion hybrid 2.5 has a closed deck design so would like to know just out of curiosity.

I don't remember but has been posted earlier. Search for open or closed 2.5 deck.

It's going to be a closed deck design since it's a low power output engine. The open deck blocks are usually going to be boosted engines that need the extra cooling around the cylinder walls.

Is this detailed enough?

How sure are you about that?
Internet says the opposite.
Low Horsepower & Naturally Aspirated is most often open. Better cooling, but cheaper to make and weaker design.

Semi-closed and closed: much stronger design, can tolerate turbo boosted engines, much more expensive to manufacture, run hotter but are designed for it.

🤷🏻‍♂️ I'm not an expert. Just reading about it since someone brought it up.

Its the same engine, with some small modifications only.
