Is anyone running U/D pulleys? I’ve ran them in the past on different vehicles and was usually pretty happy with them, but can only seem to find a single place selling them and I’m wondering why more aren’t offering them as they tend to be a pretty reliable change up for general use.

Why?

Personally, I am not willing to give up electrical or A/C compressor performance.

The only pulley I’d ever consider fiddling with would be on a supercharger, and we clearly don’t have that.

Well I rarely run my AC, it’s not that hot here, and I’m sure the electrical “loss” is negligible when driving if I haven’t added any extra loads to the truck.
but really I was just wondering about peoples experience with them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Quick search of the forum shows very few engine-related pulley topics, and even among those, the biggest conversation was from a dude who had blown an engine and was going balls-out with a methanol-injected 2.3 swap. Feel free to peruse, but you are probably charting new waters if you are just looking for efficiency.

With EPAS and smart alternators that dramatically reduce parasitic drag, I can't imagine that an underdrive pulley would have much effect at all.
