When the Maverick was at my dealer recently I was able to shoot a good deal of video under the hood, was a 2.0 EcoBoost Lariat AWD. So if anyone here wanted to see and know all about it, where the service points are, here you go.

If possible, an engine cover would be great.

Bummer that you can't get to the oil filter from under the hood. I have a vacuum oil extractor, and it makes oil changes SO easy on cars where its mounted up top.
Yay engine spaghetti !
Palms are greasy
Knees weak, arms are heavy
Dirty oil on my sweater already

Iā€™m just happy they didnā€™t shove the battery under the windshield (making it a NIGHTMARE to change) like my Escape.

I discarded the engine cover on every vehicle I've had.

You can imagine the look on my face the first time I popped the hood on my old Lexus GX470 and saw basically a second hood.

It is usually there so the engine can warm up faster on cold climates and reduce noise.

Still have to change the filter from underneath. Built a set of wooden ramps, no jacks, no stands..

They help keep everything underneath clean. Clean engines are a good thing.

With 8.6" of ground clearance, I'm sure I could slide under for the filter swap, same as with my Ram.
Hopefully they don't use a under body air deflector with no ports on it like the Escape. Every time you change the oil you have to remove like ten fasteners under the vehicle. Makes you wonder if someone sells a filter relocation kit, or failing that modify the air deflector to cut a hole in it by the filter that you can just cover and uncover quickly.

The best setup I've seen for a vacuum oil change is from Subaru:

I agree that clean engines are a good thing. But the minimal protection that engine covers provide is insignificant. What would matter more is getting the engine regularly washed to keep dirt and debris from accumulating in the first place.

You know to maximize mileage it has an underbody air deflector šŸ˜Š

People wash their engines? How does that work?

Our Escape ES 2.0 is on it's 3rd battery, I know all about having to practically pulling the windshield out to exchange the battery. Try flushing the brake fluid and changing the pads, lol.
