4K Tow Package option says, higher capacity radiator and upgraded cooling fan.
FX4 Off Road package option says, heavy duty radiator and heavy duty engine cooling fan.

I wonder if they are actually the exact same parts used on each option.
Why would Ford word them differently?

likely because they are 2 different packages that share a couple same components. 4k tow package also has added oil cooler and adjusted final drive gear ratio for towing. FX4 just beefs up a couple things for extra off road capability?

Plus... what if you have both options selected? Is it a Heavy Duty Increased Capacity and Heavy Duty Upgraded Fan? Or does it have two of everything?!?!

Yes I was thinking I am probably paying for the same parts upgrade twice for buying both options.

Now that the Maverick is in Ford's Parts system maybe someone with full dealership access can confirm, but I see only two options of radiator for the 2.0L.

RAD289 (MX6Z8005B) - Less Trailer Towing
RAD266 (LX6Z8005M) - Towing Pack 1

Likewise for the cooling fan assembly.

From the beginning I figured that my money for the fx4 package was going towards skid plates, and the 4k towing was everything else.
Look up after market skid plate prices for other trucks such as the ranger, I think it's a reasonable price.
In fact every option I have added on from the factory feels cheap compared to the parts, labor and hassle of doing it aftermarket. (on this vehicle anyway)
