Hello, I'm just wondering if the 2 12 volt power connectors near the tailgate are wired into the cabin at all. I had an idea for something, but I'd want to put switches in the dash. I just wondered if anyone knew where to tap into those wires? Where do they go?

I would like to know too.
I am going to use remote switches for mine though Like this. not a dash switch but allows you to turn on and off remotely.

The rear power points on each side of the bed are powered thru Fuse 34 (20A) and a relay in the Battery Junction Box. The 2023 wiring diagrams show a power point up front that's similarly powered via Fuse 32. This is supposed to be a T-shaped connector with 2 of the 3 terminals used. The green wire with violet stripe is +12V, and the black wire with blue stripe is chassis ground. This connector is shown in the lower center of the instrument panel, below the vents and behind the climate controls. If you have a power sliding window, it should be near this switch. Looks like a real b*tch to access, which is probably why the Ford dash cam hooks up to the OBD2 port. LOL. Best of luck! Please tell us how this goes and the p/n if Ford sells you a mating connector!

For the life of me I don't know why they bothered running those 12 volt wires to the bed and then not running them to the dash. Even if there were similar blanks in the dash with the wiring hiding behind, I'd pay for switches that could easily be swapped for the blanks

Yes, absolutely! They should also make it easy to run wires up to the overhead console, and perhaps a path over the headliner for a rear-looking camera too. Ford talks up the "hackable" aspects and then ignores top priority hacks like switched accessory power for a compass, radar/laser detector, dash cam, etc, etc.

I used them in the bed where I put the switches. Most electric items installed in the bed would benefit more from a switch back there instead of the cab.
