The two touch-control LED bed lights were a dealer installed option that just came in today; they came in handy late this afternoon as I finished installing a marine grade 12v power outlet in the bed cubby to run a 15amp Pittsburgh Tools air inflator.

I also wanted to install a "cigarette lighter' 12v outlet in the bed, but was thinking of merely using the smaller 12v panel just to the right of the larger storage bin. Thanks to your post, I now can see how installing it in the larger panel gives it more protection from the elements. I'm sure there's a 12v cigarette lighter outlet with a protective cap that will fit in the smaller panel.

Thanks for bumping this old thread been looking for that exact Amazon link. But for parts. I still think the small 12v cover plates are a better location for my setup. Have a 23 yr old Engel 12v frig. That still works! The handles form a gap that the 12v plug and wires would fit and be protected from bumps. The panel farther back would be to easily hit/ broke by other loads.

I really want to do that! I would electrocute myself or destroy my Mav though.
One of the best things about this forum is the support of its members. There have been a couple of mods I was hesitate to do, but thanks to the encouragement and help of other members, I went ahead and tackled them. I knew that if I ran into a problem, I would be able to find help from here. So, go ahead. You're only dealing with 12v and low amperage, so there's not much danger of killing yourself nor will you 'destroy' anything on the Mav that cannot be replaced. The upside is pride in your newly found ability and in how much it adds to your truck experience.

my air compressor install in the bed cubby was a relatively safe and easy project, and pleased with the way it turned out; last week I picked up a nail in the right rear, and used that new compressor to fill the slow leak several days in a row until i could get the tire shop to patch the tire

When my truck arrives, I will actually be able to really contribute. I'm one of those who geek out on vehicles.

All good. No pressures to contribute, but do let everyone know when you get your Mav. Too good not to share!

Do you have photos of this install? I'm planning on the same thing when I get mine delivered in 2023/24.

I keep thinking when I get my mav to add these, they look very cool. I can imagine for camping they would be very handy. But I would want them locked in some way and I don't want a bed cover. I can image someone figuring out they can charge their phone using my mav and come out of a store with someone's phone connected to my maverick. California is weird that way.

I got the hard roll up, very happy with that BAK product on two previous F-150s
