As long as you don't cut a hole in the hood to add a shaker scoop (although that would be pretty cool), I don't think a future buyer would know or care. Really. Unless you go full crazy on us. I'd have fun and not worry about it.

If you love to tinker and modify I say absolutely go for it. I think by doing projects youā€˜ll get to know and love your Maverick even more. You may even want to pick up the service manual and wiring diagram

If you owned a small truck back in the day it was all about customization and making your truck your own and seeing what others did as well. It was so fun.

My experience has been that tasteful modifications can increase value or make it easier to sell. Modifications that are done poorly or that are extreme stylistically will hurt value and make it harder to sell. When it's time to sell, there will be thousands of stock trucks out there. Modifications can make yours more appealing.

Modify, Modify, Modify. That is my take. I want it to reflect what I like and keeping it stock would not do that. Then there is the functional part. Do I want the tailgate to come crashing down every time I have to open it? NO! So I put a damper on it.

Do I want to deal with the stupid stick under the hood when I want to do work under it? NO! So put some struts on that hood.

I live in a very wet environment, OR. coast, and I have to walk through a lot of puddles and mud at times so I wanted floor mats that could keep the carpet dry and I could remove to wash. Stock floor mats wouldn't do.

So it is stuff like that and the ability to make it different than all the others out there that drives me to MODIFY, to my heart's content.

I suggest you do the same.
I like the mods you’ve suggested. Good ideas.

I've got a set of those hood vents I'd always intended to install on my Fiesta, it's an interesting look for the Maverick, do you have a build thread or any other photos showing them?

Picked up my truck on Tuesday and have already started modifying it. Tailgate assist, hood props, storage, new wheels and tires will be here next week. Getting ready to order the kia mirror, the diode dynamics fog lights, and some led bulbs. Waiting on the Mabett side markers to be back in stock. I end up modifying every vehicle I own.

I can't remember any vehicle that I have seen of (owned by friends or family) that has NOT been modified in some way.
As "I" get older, I seem to do less and less of this.
But, I do keep them a long time (12-14 years = almost 40 years of owning Rangers) So for me, Resell is not a concern and I start squirreling away money for the next one right away. Have only paid in cash.. šŸ’°šŸ’°

Personally I want to make mine last longer so I rubber coated all four fenders, Paint protection film and ceramic coated the whole truck. Then I want to make in more enjoyable to drive so I added Kilmat where I could and changed out all 6 speakers.

The dealer put a coating on mine. I’m in Florida so that will help underneath, not having winters. I agree with trying to make it last long. It’s funny, just today I was thinking about the speakers. They definitely need to be upgraded. I’ll look at Kilmat.

There’s lots of simple but cool stuff to do. Do what you want. I like wheels and I might get a set of fairly cheap take offs. In a year I’ve seen wheels on here for fair to low money and with tires too. It’s your wallet and imagination šŸ˜Ž

I’ve been looking at some ideas of doing vintage looking wheels or maybe white.

Ultimately it’s my decision but I like to hear opinions. I just bought my 2024. They had it on the lot. XL Eco boost vs used 2022 XLT with tow. I took the new one. No scratches or miles and actually cheaper. I’m mostly okay with just having front wheel drive. I’m in Florida so no snow for me! (I’ve had enough). lol. I love the no power seats or mirrors yet I have Apple CarPlay. I even have started really liking those generic stock rims. My very wise brother keeps talking about me just keeping it 100% stock, but I’m all about customizing and projects. Most mods only change appearance and have no functional benefit, yet I like them. Would staying all stock keep more value? I kinda like my brother’s idea but I also love to modify. Anyway, opinions and recommendations please? Thanks
ā€˜I’m laughing that you ask that here. These guys are disassembling the entire truck to install options they didn’t buy. Then they post the schematics, wiring diagrams and tutorial videos. Live a little. Ignore the ā€œvery wise brother.ā€
