Hybrid as a standard engine was the way they marketed the truck. How can they be surprised that is what most people wanted?
Because they kept saying that it would be 65% EB and 35% Hybrid. This was reported everywhere by Ford.

So many new vehicles are limited to white, 50 shades of gray, and black nowadays, especially lower trim levels. Ford is offering real colors and I'm guessing that given more choices, buyers are gravitating to them.
Very happy to see BLUE as an interior color rather than black and gray. Twenty years ago you could choose red, blue, green, brown and black interiors with matching steering wheels, etc. It is so nice to see a different choice for once. Hopefully this trend moves forward in the industry.

I rented a Corolla in Alaska which had the lane control and I hated it. Went off when it shouldn't have etc. Maybe things have changed since then, but that's why I didn't order it.
I hate the lane control in my Subaru forester. It always goes off and even tells me to watch the road when my eyes are looking straight forward. Technology is not ready at this point. I don't want to argue with my car anymore.

Lane keep systems outside of BlueCruise or SuperCruise don't watch your eyes, it senses how many times you drift close to the lane markings and subtracts from its internal driver alertness scale as you go.

The lane keep in my Kia actually works fantastically, which is not something I thought I'd say when I bought a Kia. It's probably more akin to the lane centering on the Lariat Lux, but it makes long highway drives a lot easier by actively keeping the car centred instead of shouting at you and nudging you back and forth between the lines like a game of Pong.

Thanks for your advise. I appreciate your thoughts.

It seems like Rapid Red First Editionโ€™s arenโ€™t very popular. Mine is that with the Lariat trim. Being so few maybe they will be built sooner rather than later. I could only wish.

Same order here, we'll be lucky to have them by Easter. My order confirmation email was around 6/20 as well.
Hate to say it, but you're possibly not too far off there unless there's a significant bump in hybrid production in December and January....I guess at least I'm used to driving my current car in the Winter.

I realize it's imperfect information because it doesn't include all of the orders AND we don't know how well people are updating their records, but I was curious (as someone who placed my order on 6/17) to see if Ford is (somewhat) pulling the older orders first.

At least from this data, when you placed your order doesn't appear to matter:
  • of the 777 tracked orders placed in June, 131 are reported as being scheduled for production (17%)
  • of the 778 tracked orders placed in July, 147 are reported as being scheduled for production (19%)
  • of the 536 tracked orders placed in August, 105 are reported as being scheduled for production (20%)
June orders included the highest percentage of hybrid orders of the 3 months, but not by much.

Cmon Texas, those are rookie numbers! Lets pump those up!

Speaking of rookies, c'mon, copilot is a no-brainer. Why are people skipping it?

Not surprised the hybrid is hot, but this has to be one of the very few vehicles for which white and black have such low take rates, as those are the most popular colors in general. Wondering if the blue interior has a lot to do with that, or just the fact that people are ordering instead of just a dealer buying white and black vehicles as neutral and people settling for them.
I'm thinking that the interior color has probably pushed people into a exterior paint color they normally might not have chosen. I know for myself I went through 4 different colors before settling on CGM in the end. If the XL interior had been offered for the XLT model that would be so much better in my opinion.

Does anyone have the phone number to call Ford to check that your order has been placed with the factory? Thanks

That is a good question- hard to know what Ford was thinking but they surely created a vehicle that is Very Good in the base model - not something that we usually see. This truck will be wildly popular. The Hybrid Mileage will raise their fleet average miles per gallon and that will be very good for the larger truck sales. I think that will allow them to sell more larger trucks and still meet total fuel mileage standards across the entire brand. I think that is what they were thinking But maybe they gave the public too good of a deal? Better put in your order soon or miss out - prices are going up!
