That is a great qu

I would hope that don't happen. The way I understand the process is from the 2nd to the 15th we will have to reorder and not loose your place in line. Sometime after the 15th Ford will know what orders it cannot build in 22 make the private order and cancel the 22 orders. So I belive we have to Aug 15th to reorder and still maintain the place in line and get the private offer. However here we are a week away and still don't have an order guide. Find that worrisome.
I believe it has been said, do not remember by whom, may have been by @fordvideoguy but if not him I am hoping. The two weeks to place the reorder and keep your place in line is mainly just that. You can just place a basic order for say a XL,XLT, or LARIAT and then very shortly thereafter make changes and/or additions to your order. My sales agent told me that 2023's are scheduled to be picked up from the order book by Ford for scheduling on 10/06. I do not know if this is for all 2023's or the "new" 2023's but I would believe for both in their priority sequence. This implies that we MIGHT have 4-6 weeks to make those changes but ????

This whole thing is $hit show. Where is the communication from Ford. The one thing I learned early in life (cutting lawns as a kid to make $) under promise and over deliver. I guess the communication department at Ford never cut lawns🙃
Aaarrrggghhh!!! I cannot resist. Perhaps they were topiary "specialists" and promised people how their bushes would look while standing on the fresh cut lawns which made the bush's look like they needed attention! 😁

So the same day we can order is when they provide the special offer?

Lovely
Ford 800# told me that the Private Offer will come in an email on Aug 1st, specific to your order. You then go to your dealer Aug 2nd and place a new order. I'm am hearing from the Ford Video Guy that your Private Offer will "probably" be the $ difference between your 22 and 23 truck cost. I also heard that your Private Offer will be accepted at any Ford dealer but to keep your place in line, you have to reorder at your original dealer location.

All orders are put in on 8/2, orders not scheduled for 22 and new orders for 23 are put in on the same day. Changes can be made to orders. I think the first "snapshot" of orders for dealers will happen on September 15th. Any COVP orders the dealer has as of that date earns them their allocation count. Then on Oct 7th is the first scheduling of 23MY orders to be built. Not 100% on all the dates because I'm not at work to look up but I'll cover in in future livestream.

I don't know where this would fit and a search didn't help...
I found a 2022 Maverick Hybrid... $34,xxx and it was onsite and available. Was I interested? Sure! I was planning on ordering a 2023 anyway and I don't mind a 2022 over a 2023 if it means I get it much earlier. So, I filled out their little inquiry form online and got a call shortly asking if I was interested in buying it.

"Yes, I am."
"It's $17,000 over MSRP"
"No thanks." {hang up}

Basically, this was a quick lesson in how to lose a customer for life. WTF? I get marking up a limited commodity but a 50% markup? Really?

How common is this? I bought my last F150 last year and would like a change. The exchange last night did not endear me to Ford's dealership network. I'm sure there are decent ones out there but one bad apple...

@JoeTime, thanks for the Ford information. A new (MY23) order on 8-2 preserves your original place in line. The last day a person would be scheduled for MY22 is 8-18. Then a person can cancel the 23 order.

My understanding of the private offer is it will be the difference of the original versus the MY23 priced one. Since a bare bones XL hybrid went up 1k that would be your offer amount. Sending out those emails on 8-1 would be prudent of Ford and avoid confusion when a customer places their 23 order the next morning. I expect the PCO will show up in Smart VIMCENT so the customer can decide if they want their MY23 price protection calculated by the order or purchase date.

I just saw on TV so it must be true that GM has 100,000+ vehicles that cannot be delivered due to supply chain issues!

Well i am ok with special offers as long as i get to stay in line where my order is now. ordered 10/16/21 and not have to get in the back of the line because i am on the west coast and everyone east of my dealer that orders in the
am of 8/2.
i would hope FORD uses or original date as to new projection lineup.
From what I've seen and told by my sales man it's supposed to be all carry over 22 should be built before 23 brand new orders given constrains he did say to that allocations shouldn't play as big of a factor cuz they want to try to clear the 22 reorders first

I fully expect the 9-15 MY23 scheduling date for job #1 will be the wave of former priority 2 MY22's that missed the 8-18 cutoff.

It will be interesting to see how soon a totally new MY23 Ecoboost order is scheduled. Ditto the ratio of hybrid/Ecoboost production since Ford underestimated the 40% hybrid demand before the war shot up gas prices which are receding, but the demand for a fuel and cost efficient truck will stay strong.

With very little time between the last MY22 (10-21) and the first MY23 (10-24) the color scheme and a few options might be the only changes until mid year.

The timing of the MY23 order guide HAS to be better than the 2 hour notice (for the F-150) given on 7-18.

Bronco orders that got pushed to 2022 received private offers. The amount was the same amount to offset the price increase between 2021 and 2022. Each Bronco customer had a different amount reflecting that increase. You may not see anything in the mail, but once your Maverick hits the ground make sure you ask your dealer to run you for a private offer. In my humble opinion the increase will be anywhere between $900 and $2,500 depending on trim and options. Either way, for those of you whose order got pushed to 2023, you are lucky, because you will be getting the newer year model for the price of the old one (provided that your dealer doesn't hit you with the "sit on my lawn fee"). You may have to pay the sales tax on the MSRP, because any form of rebate works as a down payment, not selling price adjustment, but let that be the worst thing that happened to you. It is worth the wait! I understand it could be very frustrating. I was in the same boat.
What I am wondering what happens to all the VIN numbers that will not be build in 2022 Will VIN indacate the 23 as a 22

I'm with you on this one @Mickey B . I'd like to see information from Ford regarding the grandfather clause to place a new MY order and maintain the original order date. One good thing Ford did was the time between the last scheduling day of MY22 (8-18) and the first for MY23 (9-15).

The Regional Scheduler will have those weeks to move orders to priority 2 for previewing and establish October's allocations which incidentally occurs on the 15th of the prior month.

The mainframe at Dearborn will be burning hot on 8-2 with the MY23 orders for the Maverick joining the Edge, Explorer, Ranger and Bronco Sport.

So I currently have on order a loaded Lariat. If I decided to order a stripped down hybrid for 23 I would loose any private offer. Not sure how else they would do it. But with interests rates up and my trade going down it's something I have to consider.

I am sure Ford has people with masters degrees or more figuring this all out. To bad a kid cutting lawns have more business savy than them.

So we get a 2023 for the same price as a 2022 that will be the exact vehicle except for paint colors?

Adding another 6 months or more to our wait times.........that's a "special offer"
