  1. Photo: spare tire vs standard tire on Lux Lariat 2.0

Full size wheel with a smaller 215/60/17 tire. Could probably switch out to a matching 225/65/17 pretty cheap if your local tire shop has a lightly used unmatched single.
  2. Bought a Maverick FX4 but now I wish I could tow...

Order one with 4K. Drive the one you have until it arrives and sell it. You might even end up making a couple thousand dollars in the process.
  3. Photo: spare tire vs standard tire on Lux Lariat 2.0

That's the donut you get if you don't opt for the "full-size" spare.
  4. Window Sticker Date Question

If I understand correctly, blend date is the date the manufacturing team has determined that all the necessary parts for your vehicle have been procured and actual assembly can begin. Seems like an internal thing that really serves no benefit to the end customer. I can understand why it isn't on...

Here's the press release from Global Foundries. They have signed a non-binding agreement with Ford. The real hope is that they will design and produce chips specifically designed for Ford vehicles to reduce their dependency on a supply chain that involves competition with other automotive and...
  6. Where does Mav rank on the list of cars you’ve owned?

Still waiting for the Maverick plug-in hybrid AWD so I can put it at #1
  7. How one California Ford dealer remade a $25k Maverick into a $32k Maverick.

Makes me glad that some dealerships just mark it up by $5K and simply call it a market adjustment.
  8. Difference between 17 and 18 inch wheels

100% agree that those Goodyear Wranglers were utter trash. No wonder they were so cheap.

The Internet, where I'm right and everyone else is wrong.
  10. Seeking feedback: FX4 or 4K?

FX4 for hooning (play), 4K for gooning (play disguised as work) FWIW, I ordered the XLT with everything except 4K. I would rather get a Lariat Lux hybrid for the same money as a loaded XLT AWD. Just my 2 cents. I don't actually need any of the packages. I really don't even need a truck.
  11. Need some insight... is FX4 package really worth it for me?

IMHO sport mode isn't going to do anything your right foot can't do on its own. I've owned a few cars with eco and/or sport mode and it just adjusts the sensitivity of the throttle pedal. Stick with what you ordered and enjoy it. Thinking about what it doesn't have won't do anything good for...
  12. Need some insight... is FX4 package really worth it for me?

Eco and Sport modes are only there so that non-FX4s can have more than 3 drive modes.
  13. All trucks (including Maverick) in California get a commercial registration!

Is it? MSRP on my Mav order is around $31K and first year registration will be around $535. That's 2.8% of 60% of the car's value + $13.50 in other fees. This is in AZ.

America, where rich Americans take advantage of poor Americans and convince them to blame non-Americans for it.
  15. Kicker Speakers 3D Coin Badge Model/Base Audio Upgrade

2-ways up front and 4-ways in the back seems like the right call. How do they sound?
  16. Luckily got a Cactus Gray XLT

    Which powertrain does it have?
  17. My Ford Maverick Lariat FX4 w/ 1.5" lift, 17" Fuel wheels, 245/65/17 tires

The wheels create an optical illusion of a floating rim. The wheel design plus the lift makes them look bigger than 17". I've clicked on these pictures more than I care to admit.
  18. Power Inverter location?

You're right. Most laptops with barrel plug charging require 19.5V input. Maybe the best solution for laptops is to use a 19.5V charger that plugs into the 12V accessory socket.
  19. Power Inverter location?

I wonder if it would be safe to replace the console USB fuse with a 10A or 15A and use a USB to barrel plug adapter to power your laptop. You don't actually need an inverter just to use an AC adapter to convert back to DC. AFAIK the rear console USB has a 5A fuse behind it and the front ports...
  20. 2024 Chevrolet Montana?

Is everything with a bed and a rounded front end like a Santa Cruz? This 2-door ute with a short wheelbase is a lot more like the Fiat Toro (AKA RAM 1000) and the VW Saveiro. They've been around Central and South America for at least 40 years.
