Anyone have experience with Winslow Ford up North? They always seem to have 1 or 2 Mavs in stock. I might see if I can test drive one the next time the wife and I take a trip up to Flagstaff. The front license plate bracket on an Arizona vehicle makes me cringe though...
Respectfully disagree with interest rates where they are now. Paying a few hundred bucks a year in interest to keep $20K+ is worth it. If you take the 0.9% for 48 months offer, you only need a 2% annual return on an investment (e.g. a retirement account) worth half of that to come out on top...
Personal opinion, but I see two scenarios where a lease could make more sense than financing. I don't think either applies to the Maverick, though.
1. Leasing a BEV of PHEV for 2-4 years with the intent to not buy it out at the end of term. You will be able to claim the federal tax credit and...
Nice "review" by a salty crybaby who spent a few minutes looking at spec and sales sheets. Not sure how this guy got this thing published without breaking his keyboard.
It's really the 3.9% interest rate that makes the 72 month loan suck more than anything else. In the current market, it would be wise to skip any financing offer with more than 2% interest. If you really need to stretch out the loan period to more than 60 months to make the monthly payment work...
It was a rolling start from 40 to 70. That Maserati took forever and a half to get into the right gear. We heard the first downshift, then she just punched the accelerator and left him behind.
I can 100% guarantee that our Leaf is faster than any Maverick on the road. My wife just humiliated a Maserati convertible on a freeway on-ramp last week... in Eco mode... and he was really trying to get in front of us.
I really don't understand these ratings. Consumer Reports themselves rated the 2021 Silverado among the 10 least reliable cars on the road: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-reliability-owner-satisfaction/10-least-reliable-cars-a2967595976/
It carries over to 2022 with a refresh and it's...
Completely agree about people pooping on the hybrid engine for no good reason (we all know that none of them have driven one). People also crap on CVTs, but they do a great job of making the most out of an engine. Many reviews say the hybrid actually punches better than the hp/torque numbers...
While I understand the math you're doing, this chart doesn't show when the EB is shifting. Back when 4AT/5MT cars ruled the earth some cars seemed much faster than their 0-60 times because they had to shift into 3rd to get to that speed while many others could do it in 2nd. Having said that...
The volume of fuel consumed is measured using a flow sensor somewhere between the fuel tank and the injectors. Gasoline is too compressible for the MPG calculation to get any closer than within 10% of actual fuel economy.
Higher octane fuel results in lower fuel economy in theory. Fuel with higher octane (anti-knock index) is more resistant to predetonation from compression. This results in better ignition timing but detonates less completely because it spends less time burning in the cylinder.

Last I checked JD Power ranks Hyundai higher than both Honda and Ford in IQS and VDS, but I guess you know better.
The shilling in this thread is unbelievable. Last time I try to add something meaningful to a discussion on this forum.
I'm not sure horsepower is relevant to this discussion. The dual clutch tranny only comes with the turbo engine. The base non-turbo has a "regular" 8 speed auto. Just seems weird that this discussion could happen between the Mav and Ridgeline while excluding the Hyundai altogether.
